I'd like to see Sapp trying to tackle Russell.
Wouldn't be much diff than Sapp tackling Culpepper... they played in the same division for a few years.
Besides the money factor, the blocking is not what most receivers like. They want the catch and the fame, not the block and across the middle passes near linebackers. I think we will see more use of tight ends and running backs as receivers. Even more then now.Quote:

You could have somebody who an all pro receiver out there who is trying as hard as he can to be a good blocker that may just not have the right mindset. That's why a lot of receivers are actually converted tackles (especially when they switch leagues, such as high school to college, or college to NFL), but you only rarely see it go the other way.Quote:

Think we'll start seeing a reduction in gifts given to NFL player's crews? :D

I bet thats how his defense goes on that one, guy was fine and sober took off and got drunk elsewhere... I don't see how you can make someone pay for someone else's crime like that IF he got drunk elsewhere... kinda like charging a gun manufacturer with the VTECH shooting, of course they would be guilty if the guy was ALREADY in a shooting spree and they handed him another loaded gun... handing a drunk guy the keys would be very similarQuote:
McNair was arrested under a misdemeanor statute that charges the owner if an intoxicated person is allowed to drive a vehicle. Under the law, it doesn't matter if McNair was drinking, only if the driver was impaired, police said.
edit: nevermind, the SI article never stated msnair was ALSO in the truck at the time.

The Facts: McNair was arrested early Thursday and charged with being the owner of a vehicle operated by a drunken driver. The former Tennessee Titans player was a passenger in his silver pickup truck, police said. Police said a copy of the arrest report wouldn't be available until later in the day but confirmed McNair was arrested and booked into jail about 3 a.m. Reported by the Associated Press
idiots.
Youd think if you made a few million a year you could give up drinking and partying for a bit... or at least do it smartly.
thats what I never really understood, you make millions of dollars playing a fricken game...you go out once a week play catch and slap butts, be a little appreciative of your situation....Quote:

Few pro athletes get paid millions of dollars to play their sports, also, when you look at how many there really are. Just take football, for instance - people only think about the NFL, but there is also Arena, and those guys don't get paid much. Then there is AF2, Arena Football's MINOR league, which is composed of 30 teams from such traditional sports powerhouse cities as Spokane and Laredo. Then there is the Intense Football League and the National Indoor Football League.Quote:

You HAVE to keep your body weight and fat percentage at certain levels or you get fined. Fines for showing up late to meetings. I went through college football practice for a D-I school, and I have known several guys that went on to play in the NFL, and trust me, it is not just "playing a game," it is hard-***, bust your balls WORK.
and brain surgery is just getting paid to cut someone's head open.....Quote:
