Man, this hot weather in Sacramento is limiting my folding. My room gets so freaking hot. I had to undo my overclock to keep my rig stable. Unbelievable. I can't get one of my rigs hooked up online, and my gf's rig isn't able to hook up to the internet now that she has moved. Oh well, Maybe in a week or two I will be back in business. Looks like a lot of the top producers have fallen back a bit too. Not just me being hit by the temps and moving bug?
Nice attitude. And it was so nice of you to post in my thread about Firefox stating the same thing. You sure you want to help people by Folding? Just curious..Quote:

I thought Gromacs were no longer being counted towards point totals?Quote:

Just joined!!
Folding faster than Superman on laundry day !!
Well maybe not, but trying anyway.:)
I don't know why my points have been dropping. I checked most of my rigs today and they are all folding away. I've been steadily dropping in points output though for some reason.
On another note, I added another 12Ghz of Xeons today. I'll only have them for about a week but it still adds up.:)
Well in my case it's a bunch of tinkers and an assortment other oddball work unit's (2xx's and 1xxx's) that sure seem to take a long time for the points you get.Quote:

You have AC all over Phoenix. Overhere in Monterrey it ain't so hot as Phoenix...but not everybody has AC :pQuote:

My room is the hottest room in the house. The air from the AC vent reaches just inside the door and that's it. :(Quote:

Hmm, I have AC, but it has been hitting high 90's and even low 100's (Farenheit) here in Sacramento (moved for the summer) and in my room, even though the AC is set to 78, my Thermometer reads 30C, which is 86F, my mobo reads 35C, and my cpu reads 41C (folding; but that is with a thermalright slk-947U and a vantec 92mm tornado @ 2960rpm). This seems a little high though, cause I have it backed off to stock speeds and voltages.
That's pretty much in line with my temps - 29C/84F in my room, case reads 34C, proc 41C folding steadily over 2 days on SLK-900/120mm Panaflo M1A. Backed it down to 11x185 for the summer.

[edit2]Sorry for the double post! As you can see, I meant to edit my first one. Doh! :( [/edit2]
Gromacs still account for more than 3/4 of all F@H WUs being given out, and their points still count -- although with the point rebalancing a couple months back Tinkers are better for most machines.Quote:

The past few days I've been getting a lot of Tinkers again. :D
I don't know what the F is going on anymore. I've got 38.5 Ghz worth of P4 and Xeons folding right now and I'm averaging 700-800 points a day.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is starting to piss me off.
What switches are the recommended switches for Intel CPU's running 4.0 again?
-advmethods is all you need for Intel processors. -local if you have two consoles going on HT processors. Two consoles gives you about a 15%, maybe 20% increase in point production. Running two consoles with processor settings of lowest prority doesn't impact other uses of the machine while folding.Quote:

Sap's old thread links you to setting up two consoles and an explaination of the switches.
I've got 2 consoles running on some of the Xeons but the only switches I'm using currently are -advmethods and -forceSSE. I guess I need to drop the -forceSSE and add -local.
Yup. The -forcesse tag was supposed to be for AMD chips that supported SSE. [edit]There was some talk a while back when they redid the point system about removing the -advmethods tag giving you higher points. I also run the -forceasm tag, but no longer recall what it's for :p and the -verbosity 9 tag which is just to see added info in the log file.[/edit]Quote:

My 2500+ barton overclocked to 3200+ is running hotter than usually using an aftermarket heatsink/fan(bought at newegg for like $25). It usaully runs at 48c at full load and now runs at 55c and I'm in the basement of the house were it's much cooler.
There is also an 2.4 celeron upstairs that runs at 2.56ghz and it usaully runs at 48-50c, but now its running at 56-57c and the room temperature is 81F upstairs. The celeron has some cheapo $10 heatsink/fan that I bought with the oem cpu at Fry's.
Sorry verts, but I'm back -- you better start folding a little faster. :DQuote:

Just great - and I was set to pass you in a year - LOL.:)
Welcome home Beast.
We have retaken #43 in the world. Way to go team. :D
Looks like he turned it up today. I can't believe it, vertices had about 1,900 points by noon. I'd say that is pretty impressive. Welcome back.Quote:

Vertices, looks like whatever problem you were having has been fixed. Nice job man. Keep that up!!!
WooHoo!! RealBeast you're back!!:D:)
What did you miss us? Get tired of your OTHER team?:D:)
I have to tell you man, I'd much rather have you on the team and boot me off my #1 spot than to not have you on the team. You are a powerhouse and the team sorely missed you. Welcome Back!! I hope you stay around for a LONG time!!:)
Yeah my rigs finally started acting right. Although remember I've got 4 3.06 Xeons each folding 2 consoles at the moment that will be gone by Friday. I have to deploy them to a clients site on Friday.:(
But I'll still have about 26Ghz of intel power left.:) I've got to get more rigs.:D
Welcome Back RealBeast!!:)
Now if we could just get Thermo back we'd be really be getting back in the groove.:)
