Bookmark this page here it tells you the value of each WU. The one you linked is a 70.9 point WU and yes those take awhile. Those are 400 frames WU's and at 9 minutes or so a frame 3600 minutes = 60 hours to complete. 60 hours for 71 points ain't the greatest. Try this: You might have to grab the graphical version just because that's what I got and I know this applies to it and I'm not certain about the console version. Anyway, you add -advmethods to your target line. This requests Gromacs WU's from stanford. Your currently working on a Tinker WU. Tinker's were developed back in 2000 or 2001. Gromacs are newer and will take much better advantage of SSE, which didn't exist in 2000 when they made Tinker. Here's my example, my last four WU's have been Protein 549 which is a 33 point WU. It takes me just under 10 hours to complete this WU. So basically in the 60 hours you'll be working on that 71 pointer I'm net 198 in the same time. The other thing you have to do is delete the existing cores from your Folding folder. This will mandate the program to grab the latest core.

But is the Graphic version as bad as SETI's graphic version?

Meaning when I run the SETI command line client vs the graphical client.. I will finish a WU much much faster on the command line...

Is that the same?

Not at all. Minimized the graphical version is the same as the console version AFAIK. Anyway, if you can get the advmethods to kick in with the console verison that's fine too. Try this link it should help you with both the adding of advemthods and the using HT on your P4

Yeah that's the third time I've linked it but since this thread is growing faster than the 3DMark team thread people don't always catch it. At least more of you guys know about it now. :D Not that I need it I've have 549's in a row that past five WU's.

OK, I did all that, I am now using the Client... But I dont understand how to setup for HT.. When I try to run the second copy.. It keeps telling me it is currently running... I am about to run out for some food and stuff.. I'll see how much it comples on the 2 machines when I get home :D

Take your car its faster. :p Yeah there's links out there on how to set up HT I that that maxpc link had it. I can look for ya though of course you can look just as well I guess

EDIT yeah Colossus try that maxpc link it gives you a ten step process to using two clients with HT

Nothing makes me happier than when I get passed. I know I'm going to be good for a solid 700 points a week so anyone passing me is really got it together. Conquer On

I wish they would give me, more of them 344`s instead of the 683`s. The 344`s only takes me 16 and a half hrs to run and give me 71 points, but the 683`s give me 60 points and take me 20hrs. O` well I`m on my third 683, just wondering why I don`t get more points for it.

I just read this entire thread... there is some mention of running on HT machines here, but this looks like its an AMD playground. I'm gonna have to take a bit to think about this, but maybe I'll join in the future. After all, with all these multi-computer (hardcore conquoring) guys burning up the points, youll need someone to occupy last place :D

I back! And boy am I stuffed!!!!

I noticed the WU's I have been processing with the other client is 36% done already and its only running on 1 processor :D

Now I was thinking about trying 3.25.. But I noticed a 4.00 too.. Did anyone try 4.00?

Also that MaximumPC site is where I was looking for HT enabled folding, but I dont quite understand what they mean.. I am going to look at it again...

That site only explains HT setup with the console :(

Im being lazy, but does folding work when your screensaver is active? I dont use any special screensavers outside from the blank screen and power off in 30 minutes...

But for some reason the percentage the WU was at compared to when I left until I came back was small...

Where's v4? Folding will obviously be best when the cpu can give 100% of its attention to folding. I have my own screen power off after 5 minutes of inactivity. When in doubt check your log file

When you try and download version 3.25 I get a file not found.. So I removed the filename and I got a directory listing :)

Well add me to the team. Will have only two cpu's folding. 1 24/7 nd the other 12/7. Also everyone grab the 3.25 console, and use this in the shortcut -forceasm to use SSE cpu insructions over the 3dnow:) had around 5000 points for AOA forum. I was ranked pretty high on the team

Shrug.. Also I guess there is no way to store upcoming WU like Seti?

I still cannot seem to get HT with the GUI... But the link on that site you gave me was for the console only..
