Damn, I bought flotilla for 5 a few days ago. I'm buying Gothic Pack and am tempted to buy kane and lynch just for some random fun. I played the demo and it was okay, but the story seems neat.
Eve for 2 bucks with 30 day membership is nice for any newb to the scene.
I rememer Wurm saying he enjoyed gothic so I might pick it up. Looks like oblivion
Oh and looking at L4D2 right now we scored huge getting the 4 pack yesterday..even my wife was proud
Gothic 2 is my favorite followed closely by 1 and then 3
Make sure to get the Gothic 2 expansion pack if its not included.
And get the fan fixes for 3 or you'll want to smash your head into a wall repeatedly
If if someone would gift me the Witcher game I'd appreciate it, its on sale today and my Pay-pal is broke until I call them on Monday.
Fuggers decided to ask me two questions to verify my account that after 7 years that I no longer have the faintest idea what the answers are for.
As soon as I get my account reactivated I'll send you the money :-)
Dude it was on sale the first day for $7 but $13 is still a score IMO
I like Risen, but not as much as Gothic 2
They raised the price on the gothic pack grrrrr
Damn that sucks. I had it in my cart but didn't purchase it yet. I'm not jumping at 4.99. I have too many RPGs as it is.
Bah I put it in my cart earlier but figured Id wait until later to buy in case I wanted to pick up anything else. Guess I should learn to just grab it when I see it. Think Ill pass at the new price and dig out the CD when I wanna play it again.
Has anybody else been completely astounded by the incredibly awesome Steam sales lately? I think I have bought something every single day, mostly because these games are incredibly good deals. Does anybody else have a similar experience?
I have gotten:
- Sid Meier's Civilization IV: The Complete Edition ($10)
- Alpha Protocol ($33.49)
- Kings Bounty Gold Edition: $10)
- Puzzle Kingdoms (don't know what it is, but it was only $0.99!)
- Supreme Commander 2 ($7.47)
- Spectromancer
- Sid Meier's Pirates
- Space Rangers Pack
Out of all of that, I think I spent a total of $110 on all of those games - and there are still more games to come! I <3 Steam.
I've been happy with my purchases so far as well, Steam has had some great deals! So far my list looks like...
Bioshock 2
Killing Floor
Trine
Overlord Pack
Left 4 Dead 2
My only semi regret is buying Killing Floor on day 1, it was fun the first night but then Left 4 Dead 2 came on sale the following day. Anyone who has played them both probably knows Killing Floor is basically a watered down L4D so I doubt I will touch Killing Floor again now that I have L4D2.
Anyway, its been some great deals, sadly though I was already behind in my game log before all these sales hit, so this didn't help me get caught up :p
I think I actually have more hours played of Killing Floor than L4D2. I don't feel like KF is a watered down L4D2 at all, actually, it feels pretty damn different.
I agree. I love Killing Floor.
Well I'll clarify some, both games you team up with your buddies to kill waves of zombies. So they are essentially very similar in concept, however I feel that Killing Floor is "watered down" because:
L4D has bigger and more maps
L4D has much better graphics and sound
L4D has more enemy types and variety
L4D has more options with guns
L4D is much easier IMO to setup multiplayer games
Granted, this is all just my opinion, but pretty much everything Killing Floor does, L4D2 does better.
Not taking anything away from Killing Floor, its a good game in its own right, however coming from an unbiased position where I've purchased both games only a day apart, I don't see myself putting many hours into Killing Floor since I also have L4D2.
I think the two main differences between Killing Floor and Left 4 Dead are:
1) Left 4 Dead allows you to play as the Infected (zombies), and not just the humans.
2) Left 4 Dead relies on teamwork to survive. The loss of any one person on the team severely reduces your chances of survival. Killing floor isn't as dependent on teamwork - it is possible for a single dominant player to survive and win.
I'd actually disagree with a couple of your points. While L4D2 does have 8 different special infected, these only appear 4 at a time, where Killing Floor has 8 enemy types that appear en masse and are all very different from each other. Killing Floor's weapon variety feels more significant than that found in L4D2 and this is further accentuated by the class and level system.
I'm not arguing that one game is better than the other, I think both of them are very fun, but I really think the similarities between the two end with the zombies.
I can agree with you here, I guess the reason I lump them together is because they are both of the "Invasion" type gameplay. You know the type, bunch of friends vs. waves of bad guys. It's definitely a fun gametype, and lots of different games have their own variety and take on it. GoW has Horde mode (I think thats what it was called), L4D 1&2, Killing Floor, CoD: WaW Nazi/Zombies, UT: Invasion...its all of similar concept, fight off waves of baddies while you upgrade your character/weapons along the way.
I am happy to have both now :) now let's go kill some zombies!!
Bought: Bioshock 2, Ben There Dan That double pack
and thats its.
Waiting to see what else drops.
