I've seen my 3.5 GHz P4 have frame times of 19 minutes before, I think they were the 250 (not 250,000) Gromacs. I played a game of Wolf:ET for a couple of hours and the times went up to 27 minutes or so.

I'm sure the SSE will help, thanks for your help people.

Holy Cheeze Batman, I have to wait till I get 5000+ posts before I can use a custom avatar? WoW, for those that know me, this is a terrible blow to my reputation as the Avatar King. :(

Oh H3LL NO! The day I have to turn the chiller on is the day I stop folding. From the looks of my output, I dropped a lot of units of the last few days, the heat is already an issue.

I keep my AC on all through winter because of the heat issues with only 8 machines on 24/7 :D

Yeah I'm still on the beta 3.25 myself I never made the move to the 4 as everything I read suggested no advantage

The 2100's are OC'd a little and 2.53 is at 19/145. The Hammer seems to like 12/200. The 3.0s are are not OC'd, and the rest are servers.

version 3.25 is no longer available for download. so I guess I'll have to live with 4.0.

BTW there has been a noticable improvement in the folding speed since I used the -forceSSE option.

have you tried clocking the oced ones down to stock speed?

Speed Check Update...

Prior to using the -forceSSE parameter I was getting 1.5%/hour on the progress meter. Now I'm getting 3.5%/hour. So my folding performance has more than doubled with the use of -forceSSE.

I can't wait to see how fast one of the xxx/250 or xxx/500 WU's go on my new 'tweaked' folder. :)

I'm now a happy folder, and look forward to screaming up the ranks of sharky's folding team.

thermo: what do you plan on doing with your xp3000's when summer comes since you won't be folding on them?

Why, they fold fine. Even in the heat. It's these damn 3000+ with Nix that keep crapping out. All 5 are refusing connections tonight. So once again I'll have to hook em to the KVM and see what their problem is.
