It really turned out to be a good game. The ending was lame, boss battles suck and do nothing to improve a game. TWII was actually a good game and didn't need that crap at the end.

Just beat Dead Space 2. I'm not going to say its better than 1 since both games are tops in their class. I loved both and hope a 3 comes along in the near future.
I thought DS2 was too short. It took me around 10 hours to get through DS1 and only ~6 to get through DS2. DS2's gameplay felt more polished, but in a way that hurt the game. I also didn't care for the city as much as the space ship environments in DS2 compared to DS1. Both were fantastic games though. DS2 didn't crash once while DS1 had some issues for me.Quote:

So I was really looking forward to this game and I was loving it till I got to the active disasters part of the game. The A.I is so bad it makes it to where I will fail stages cause they decided they wanted to take the scenic route. I can't really recommend it unless you deal with being frustrated very well.

I beat it when it came out and thoroughly enjoyed it. You just have to be sure to make your paths wide enough so that they will take them. I never ran into any issues with the AI losing a game for me, but I have heard others had that problem. My only complaint is the length. I wanted more!!Quote:

Just beat: Mass Effect 2
Did I Like It: You damn right I did! Man considering I've let more dust collect on my 360 than I meant to and when I finally got a break from life I plunked myself down on my couch and grinded out all of the quests from Mass Effect 2 on a gloomy Saturday afternoon... and evening... and part of Sunday. I know I may be a little late to the party but I think it was well worth it. I was captivated by the story of Mass Effect (1) and was really looking forward to its sequel. After a sweet deal I found (thanks to you fine folks) on gamefly I bought ME2 used for nearly nothing.
Impression: A huge change in gameplay from ME1. Long story short: no more weapon customization, armor customization, Mako driving, and unlimited ammo... for starters. I remember when ME2 dropped that alot of people were up in the air with regards to the gameplay changes... more focused on firefights and action... starting to step away from its RPG elements... etc. Having become accustomed to the way ME1 was set up, I wasn't sure if I'd welcome this adjustment. Was it for the better? I think so. The first thing I noticed right away was that controlling my character in the environment felt much more smooth. ME1 always felt so stiff and tight. A slight lag in controller response time to shift your view from left to right, sluggish graphics, etc. This is all gone now in ME2. I love that it became more firefight focused. Sure the weapons customizations were gone, but they tried to make up for them by offering different "ammo types" you could research and use. By my endgame I had fully researched disruptor ammo for synthetics and armor-piercing for organic. And I like how if you select one weapon and turned on one ammo-type, but switched to another weapon and turned on a different ammo-type, those would stick to that weapon until you changed them. Easy to switch to my machine pistol with disruptor ammo, knock down the barrier until I hit armor, then switch up to the heavy pistol with armor-piercing and finish them off. I enjoyed the further enhancements and depth that ME2 added to the whole storyline. Locating each character and getting to know them was a treat and added a sense of companionship that created a sense of caring and compassion with each character. They all had substance, and a story... something that made you want to care for them personally and ensure that you completed their loyalty missions, on their terms, in order to help you in the end. All around great game. A little more action, a little less talking. A huge improvement over ME1 for sure. Two thumbs up from this shark. Can't wait to see how ME3 plays out!
I finished the game around 40hrs, as an infiltrator on normal, and completed each side quest (hope I didn't miss any). Every character survived the end and I was awarded the "No One Left Behind" achievement! Although I have technically beat the game, I just finally hit the Cerberus network and will start some of the free side-quests such as Zaeed and the Normandy crash site... as well as check the achievements for the game and make sure I didn't miss anything that wouldn't be too terribly hard to acquire.
My brother watched me play the last 10 hours or so and he has never really been big into RPG games, let alone those with a scifi tone. After the first couple of hours of watching me play I took a break, and later on he asked me if I was going to play again because he wanted to see the story advance. Felt good knowing he was taking an interest in it and it gave us a chance to hang out (a rarity for us and something I cherish)... and after I came home from work yesterday morning I walked through the front door to find him awake, and playing his very own character in ME1... :D!!!
Up Next: Not quite sure yet. I'd love to throw down on Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but I still have Ninja Gaiden to finish (or restart?)... and I'd like to look into some games that have come out that I wanted to get when they came out but I just didn't have the time to play them so I forgot about them such as Bioshock 2, Fallout New Vegas, etc... so who knows :D!
ME2 is indeed a great game.
Can't wait for 3.

Comments: Overall I'm happy with the game, I think it was money well spent since I have enjoyed all 3 deathspank games. I might play back through it on insanity mode now that I've unlocked it, but I'm not compelled to do so. I wouldn't mind them mixing it up a bit, but then again, if they start mucking around with the game, they might make it worse.

I thoroughly enjoyed all my time spent with this game. It was, without question, the best (voice) acted and cinematically impressive game I've ever played. Every line, bit dialogue, and performance is motion picture or major network TV quality. It told a thoroughly engrossing story, the characters were deep and for the most part believable and well-fleshed out.
On the downside, the game often "got in the way" of itself. While I (and my girlfriend even more so) loved the majority of the investigating gameplay, most of the side quests were repetitive and predictable, there were numerous noticeable slow-downs on the 360 (not during important/speed sensitive areas though, thankfully), and my biggest complaint, there simply was not enough consequence for screwing up an investigation or blundering through interrogations. That was disappointing, and made me feel like most of my hard work was meaningless as the game would just hold my hand anyway through the next case.
Anyway, as a fan of PC graphic adventures like Blade Runner from way back, as well as old crime films, it was a great and enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Just beat ME2 as well. I'm pretty unhappy about losing Garrus and Tali in the suicide mission though. I wanted them to be around for ME3 in my game...oh well. I am going to do a second play through with the same character maybe I can save everyone this go around. Such a great game.
Just beat Nox. 7/10. A humorous Diablo sort of game by Westwood released in 2000 that I think sort of got lost in Diablo's shadow and no-one played it. Pretty good and fun though too short. Slightly overrated I think, everyone who has played it seems to say it is better than Diablo but I dunno about that, been a while since I played Diablo. Each of the 3 character classes (Wizard, Conjuror, Warrior) are very different though and the levels change as do the endings so alot of replay value. Has a unique true line of sight which looks great and you can jump as well and alot of the objects can be pushed around. Much simpler than Diablo, you can't improve any stats when you gain a level, it is done automatically. There also isn't a great deal of variety in the items or equipment to find and wear though there are tons of spells which look good and are fun to use. Won't be doing any grinding here or anything like that which you would in Diablo which is good. The interface is one of the best things, very easy and the ASDF hot keys make it a breeze for your favourite abilites/spells.
It's fast paced linear hack n slash with a few easy puzzles but the combat is non targeting and requires skill at times, especially as a mage which is the hardest class. You never feel cheated though. The enemies are varied and look good with good animation and the AI is pretty challenging. No difficulty levels but achieves the right balance for the most part. Has a simple story, basically a woman necromancer is gonna take over the world and you as a kid in the modern time get sucked into your TV set and have to defeat her to save the world...good villain and a sort of twist ending if you play as the Wizard (the endings are disappointingly rubbish though and short).
Not a bad game at all, graphics still look ok (better than Diablo), I think this was one of the few games to fully use MMX only. Actually more kind of like Gauntlet than Diablo but I liked and is well worth the 5 bucks on gog.
