Still here, but just limping along since most of my rigs are packed for a move that won't happen for three more weeks. :(
For whatever reason my IDEQ 200N has problems getting WU. Sometimes it will sit there for 24 hours, and then I have to stop and restart FAH to get another WU. I have FAH set to passlock, so that's not the problem.
I'm using the graphic version, is the console/service version any better at getting WU??
They really need to get on the ball and at least let you cache a couple WU like SETI. Especially for those of us with faster rigs.
Beasty Thang - you need to find some steady work so your not moving all the time. :D jrQuote:

started folding a couple months ago and I'm already ranked 136th. Horay!:)
Woot! It's been a long time, but I finally got my production in the green again on the EOC stats. :D
Yup, they kicked me out of another place. :)Quote:

Ok I've been looking around this F@H thing lately, and I'm sort of really confused. I checked the Hot-To and FAQ here on Sharky, and most of the links don't work on it. Neither does the Sharky Team home page on F@H. Besides I looked around the site and am totally confused about what F@H is. There's something about proteins... please can anyone fill me in?

I already did actually... so I just leave the program while I'm not on the PC and it does whatever it does by itself?Quote:

Yep, just leave it running, and it'll do the cancer research on its own. Assuming you have broadband, you can even set it to send and receive work automatically. You'll never have to do anything, even though you are. ;)
I'm not sure where our founder, sapasion, has gone, but the rest of the team for the most part is still folding strong. We are ranked 50th overall.
You can keep up with your stats on the Sharky Forums folding team here:
http://folding.extremeoverclocking.c...php?s=&t=34149
Just be sure to enter "34149" as your team number, and you'll be moving up the ranks in no time.
Speaking of sapasion, does anyone know where he is? We need to get our pics up and running again on the Stanford team site.
Ay ay... thank you for the info. I'll get it up and running once I'm done with my new build and get it connected at home.
cool, i just hit 20k:D
Help, please.
One of my rigs has been sitting here for a couple days now, failing to receive a new WU. I've closed and reopened the client several times, and the computer has been rebooted once during this time.
Any ideas?
The server may be down you are trying to get the WU from. I think they are setup to redirect you to another server, if thats the case, however I'm not sure it always works that way.Quote:

Delete your current folding program and installing a new one seems to work.
That has always seemed to do the trick when other people have been in my situation, but I was hoping there was an easier way out. Luckily, the problem fixed itself yesterday.Quote:

I've just added my Pentium M 2.0Ghz to the list
Didn't want to fold due to heat, but I bought some Vantec fans for laptops and heat has nearlly disappeared (will make a reviews of the fans later)
I STARTED FOLDING! :)
Two questions. Right now I have it set to 100% CPU, and I have HT so it says 50% in task manager. When I play a game will it idle itself?
Also, does it matter if I finish a WU? I dont run it 24/7 and reboot more than twice a day.
Welcome aboard! I haven't had any problem playing games on any of my machines while two consoles are running in the background, since FAH has very low priority assigned.
You have to finish a WU eventually to get points (before its expiration unless it is a timeless unit), but you can restart/shutdown overnight without a problem. It is best if you set the frequency of saving work to a short interval (like 3 minutes) if you restart often so you don't have to redo work to finish the WU.
wooo just broke 400points per day average... wonder if itll stay up:D.
Dag gone. I pulled down a unit to do some stress work on the new system and got the unit from hell. Its doing a frame in under 5 minutes, and is 283 frames in at about 23 hours of processor time. Says it takes 5000000 steps but does not say how many steps are in each frame. I sure hope is more than 1 !
my god... how long does it think itll take to finish that one? whats it, a 600 point wu?
I switched to the console version, so far I haven't had any problems getting WU. Where is the log file kept?
Do the newer versions have the SSE tweak included for AMD CPUs??
