I wouldn't give up on Beck. He WAS a hot QB prospect last year, and I think there's no way you can judge him by his performance this year on a TERRIBLE team. Too early to be drafting another QB imo when you just took him at the beginning of the second round a year ago. I would think that getting some youth on the defense is more important right now.
Sapp retired today. Glad to see him go at the right time honestly, I hate it when a career fades drastically but the player just hangs on for dear life and prolongs everyone's agony.
He'll be an HOF'er one day, and he probably deserves it. But if he goes before Cortez Kennedy I'll puke.:p
Sapp had ten sacks the year before... in the 3-4. This year he had two. I think that his retirement probably comes at the right time.Quote:

Now maybe the some more of the football-watching nation has seen just how damn good the seahawks D really is. (aside from when Marshall is calling "prevent".:mad: ) but they won this game for us. Hass is plainly throwing with an injured wrist and was barely moving the offense forward for awhile. This is not going to cut it in Lambeau.
Glad for a win today, but I'm not real optimistic about going further.
btw, did anyone notice that the skins lost by 21 points?

The teams I predicted to win both won today, though I thought Seattle would win by a little and Jacksonville would win by a lot, so I guess it was switched around a bit. :D
I was a little suprised that the Steelers put up such a good fight. Hopefully Jax can beat on the New England a enough so that they are soft when playing the Colts. I just don't see the NFC standing a chance against any of these teams.

After Johnson left, there was a steady decline. Talent signed elsewhere, or got old... and was not replaced. The only good players left on Miami are all older Johnson regime players. With the one exception of Ronnie Brown.
Wannstedt was a big part of that decline.
I can't wait for the Jags Vs. Pats game. It should be a very entertaining game. But the Pats will win a close game. The Colts should win mainly because you never know which Rivers, the Chargers will get. Seattle should win but I'm rooting for Favre. The Cowboys and Giants should be an interesting game to watch especially if T.O. is back but I hope the Cowboys win this one.
I don't really know who to root for in the Pats/Jags game. I like the Jags a lot, and they have a lot of guys that I like, but the Patriots have my favorite player (Welker) and I think it would be pretty cool to see history made with a 19-0 season.
It's probably still more likely that the Cowboys win than not, but I wouldn't say it's much more than 50-50. Giants destroyed Tampa a week after they gave the Pats a run, so they're pretty hot right now, while the Cowboys had a pretty big dropoff at the end of the year and may have peaked a bit too early.
Colts and Green Bay in the other games, though I'm honestly not too interested. Actually, now that I type that, I really want the Colts to win because I don't really like the Charger's tendency to party like it's 1999 after tackling a running back after a two yard gain.
Look for Manning to throw a crucial interception that dooms the Giants this week.
