HOW IS THIS FOR CPU POWER! 100 computers all folding in the name of Phelan1777!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FOR team sharky,
its m responsibility to get all the of the lab computers turned on and running during the day MUHAHAHAHHA, if Ihave folding on each computer! 100+ CPUS!
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH
Yay!!! I made it to over 250,000 points in less than a year. Finally cracked the top 5.
Now if only we could some members interested in this again.
That is the hard thing. I honestly do it just because I like folding, though I went from being ranked ~400 to 905, which was sort of sad to see, but hey I have to think of it as there are over half a million people behind me.
hey;
just took the plunge ;)
my poor ol' pII is pinned at 100% CPU, but cranking....still at 0% (0/400) after 10 min. :(
see screenie?

After a long dry spell from a big move, I got a couple extra rigs going, and got my weekly production back up a bit.
What happend to colossus "sp" "Terabyte " after his move he is no longer folding did he make it to New York? I will be passing him soon. WakeQuote:

no way, no one can catch you... for along time anyway.
man, have we lost steam - i've been merrily folding away during my hiatus here at sharky for the past year or so, i come back, and we're at 1/2 the production we used to be at  :(
i just got my a64 system up and running 2 instances of f@h, and i will say it's quite nice to see 2 600pt units running at once at full steam
since swapping out my old hardware for my a64 setup, i need to upgrade my server with leftover parts that should get me an extra 5-600Mhz of folding powaH!1
I lost the steam for it now that I had moved.. Most my servers/desktops lay dormant in the storage room....Quote:

I just looked today and I've passed the 400K point mark. I'd effectively be #3 on sharky's team. :)

My processor count has dropped from the 40's down to the teens though, as more borged machines go down. My team was almost down into the 400's but now I've dropped all the back to the mid 500's.
Surprisingly I don't even fold on either of my two home machines (a 3.2C and a 3.4E) since it makes them too noisy with the fans running at full speed all the time. I probably should get back to it, it would help my score.
If the Intel Retail Edge comes through this year (which I don't think I'll be lucky enough to score like last year) I'll have a dual core 2.8 to add to the mix. I guess we'll see. I need to get that Zalman water cooling tower so I can run at load without a lot of noise. :(

10K milestone.
Now that I’m here and @ the footstep to the front page (11k+ or so needed) I realize there is a performance zone I’m going to be staying in, even if I get an FX proc. I only fold on my one main rig…so I’ve got to ask: How many of you top producers run more than one rig for the project? Can you tell by the stats?
Most all do. Click on there name when looking at ranks and it will say. Wake
Ah. Much easier to see that from the stanford.edu site. I always went to extremeoverclocking.com to look @ the stats. Thanks.
About the most you'll get out of one machine is maybe 300 ppd, so you need a few to get close to 1000 ppd. Right now I'm running 5 (2 P4s @ 3.4, one dual Xeon @3.2, an AMD 2100+, and an old P3 1.0), which with HT add up to 10 instances. (I had up to 12 machines at one point and was doing 1500 ppd.)
Building a new X2 4400 for my GF for XMAS that will add a little more.
If you run the new beta 5.04 console, or whatever it is, and enable the big packets you will get a big boost in points. On one of my P4'[email protected] GHZ will run one of the 450 point QMD (I think there called) in 24 hours. Another [email protected] I run 2 consoles and it will do both projects in about 48 hours, same about 450 points per day. Both machines have a Gig of RAM. The same project will take about 48 Hours on my P4 400fsb 2.6GHz P4.Quote:

I've heard about the console format boost effect. I'll take another look into that. Really my outlook is to find that floating spot where I will probably reach my limit stat wise, which looks like it will be soon. I've got about 6 ghost accnts (which I hope get active again of course) I'll glide over on the non active included list to get my basic ratio of ppd and total points ratio to avg out. I just turned up my venice to 2.6 so it shouldn't be too long, but I probably will have trouble going beyond that stable. It will be interesting to see where I land and stay constant. I've been watching the team stats since I've started. It looks like we seem to hover in the 55-58 rank for F@H. I also noticed on some of the 500 amber cores there is a fluctuation in the readout like 1min and another time 2min33sec frames. Odd. I like getting the 3000 amber stuff though because it's nice to wait in terms of 17sec frames. :D
Any comments on ram quantity and latency on the folding experience? HT?
On the 5.04 console version what are the required commands to get the QMD units besides -local and -advmethods?Quote:

Thanks!
I had a little trouble mixing the beta with the older consoles, seemed like it wouldn't want to send me any QMD's and when it did they weren't that much faster. I ended up removing the old consoles from my machine. Anyway, if you have problems or you don't seem to be processing about a frame every hour, if your running two consoles, or a frame every 30 minutes (P4 at 3.0GHz time) try removing all the old consoles prior to installing the beta stuff. Don't concern yourself with the first 10 frames on the QMD's, their time is not representive of the last 90 frames.Quote:

Wow, nice increase in pts with the same machines. My increase is solely from getting some of my unused rigs unpacked and set up finally after my move this summer. Are you running two QMD consoles on your P4-3.0s? Or just one and the other non-QMD?Quote:

For web or normal use I leave both running. I have a shortcut to services on my desktop and will quit one and somethimes both consoles if I want to game or whatever. I'm not sure that pausing the folding services works as well as quiting, I would think it would be the same but...Quote:

Okay, I'll run all QMDs on my Intels and see if I can get my production back up. Thanks.
Yup, moved to Texarkana, and I don't miss the desert at all. :D
k, someone explain since i've been out of the loop - QMD?
my production is coming from an x2 4200+ at stock speeds for now, plus an xp1800+ at stock and an xp2500+ at 2.2Ghz. and then occasionally, i might get a WU from an 800Mhz slot A athlon. it was on a computer my brother took to florida when he moved down there.
