And theres the biggest problem with sports media.

If it is a Pack/Pats SB, theyre gonna talk about the Pats one game from perfection, maybe a little bit about the '96-97 SB rematch, and a whimper about the Pack.

And if the Pats lose in the SB, I wont be able to watch ESPN for a month. Theyll give 2 sentences to the Pack winning, and then itll be weeks of the Pats losing the final game of their perfect season, what they did wrong, how in the hell this happened, etc etc.

A greater truism I haven't heard in a while! No matter what happens from here on out, it's gonna be "pats pats pats pats pats" in one regard or another in the sports media. It's gonna be extremely annoying.

You left out Favre's probable last game and obvious last chance at another title. And then some writers will undoubtedly play up that it would have to come against the team he earned his first and only other ring against.

But yeah, the Pats will still get the lion's share of the attention.

I think that if GB wins the SB, then MAYBE Favre will retire...if not he'll be back. The team is too young and too good, and he is playing too well to not take another shot.

It would be kind of like being a giants fan. The media always rips on them and never gives them a chance. They didn't give them a chance all season, against tampa bay, or against the cowboys. They have no shot against the packers either apparently.

I don't even pay attention to it. ESPN plays up its favorites so hard it's ridiculous. They have a new bandwagon every week. Don't let it bother you.

The giants fans also have joe buck, who obviously doesn't like the giants, calling the games on fox. Aikman calls the game with him, but he's actually a good commentator and is pretty unbiased.

Ive said it the last half of the season, the Pack are the ONLY team with a legit shot at beating the Pats, and if it is a Pack/Pats SB, it will be the greatest SB EVER. Thats right, EVER.

But Im tellin ya, the Pack have been surprising everyone all year, and I think they have 1 suprise left...

My predection for today is that the Pats, and the Pack win (surprise I know).

But in the SB? Pats will blow out the Pack.

Nobody stands a chance against the juggernaugt that is the Pats this year... the Pack and Favre included. They didn't break a number of records for no good reason.

I think GB would have a chance, heck NYG would too. Any given Sunday, people. Also, the better team doesn't always win the SB.

While I won't say they should beat them, the Packers most certainly CAN beat them. For all the hype of the unbeaten Pats, who are 20-1 in their last 21, the Packers are 18-3 over the same timespan. Since their running game emerged, there is no team in football outside of NE that is better top to bottom. The packers have a DLine that gets pressure with the best of them, a LB core that can get to the QB, stop the run, and protect the pass(with the exception of Popinga, who has gotten better over the year). They have two of the best cover corners in the NFL. Their safety's are suspect, but Atari Bigby did win defensive player of the month for december and had an excellent game last week. GB O-Line is blocking superbly for the pass, and great for the run as of late(did you see the holes they created last week?). We've got a legendary QB playing some of the best football of his career. We've got one of the best WR corps in the NFL, and they lead the league in YAC. Our RB has been the second best back in the league since he became our starter. We've got one of the best punters in the league, and our placekicker lead the NFL in scoring. Oh, and we're the healthiest we've been all year, AND are playing our best football of the year. The packers are not only legit, they are not far off from NE this year. GB's O can score on that D, and GB's D operates the same as every other D that has given NE trouble this year(they've had the most problems with teams that could get pressure from the DE's around the corner...Aaron Kampmen and Kabeer Gabaja Biamilla are two of the best at rushing the QB).

Didn't the 98 vikings break a ton of records too? Are they still basking in that SB triumph? Oh wait...they didn't win the SB did they? ;)

Well, it IS football... anything *can* happen.

But I don't think that the '98 Vikings measure up against this Pats team in any way shape or form. But that's my own personal opinion.

We'll revist this in a few weeks time... If I'm wrong, I'll eat crow. But I don't see it happening.

If this was a series then the best team should win, but in the NFL it's one game and you're out. So anything can happen but I don't see the Pats losing. I think the Chargers will make it a heck of a game but they will fall short.

Well, at least SD is keeping it close...

They'd be winning right now if they'd taken that gift INT and gotten 7 instead of 3.

Gotta admit, win or lose the NYG aren't laying down. This is anybody's game still, at 20-17 start of the 4th.

Giants starting a drive with 6 minutes left, score 20-20. If they play their cards right, this could be the last drive of the game.
