well bad news, i tried the vdimm mod and...
the clips were too big. i got the smallest ones i could get at radio shack, so i guess my next stop is the local electronic specialty shop. hopefully i can find some that will fit. unfortunantly they're not open on sundays, so perhaps i'll mod the radeon tomorrow... we shall see.
450/385, after that, I get artifacts ... got the ZM80C-HP with teh fan on it ... maybe a bad install?Quote:

my mobo+RAM won't push ...
I top out at about 210-220MHz with 2-2-2-11, 2.5-2-2-11 let's go a bit higher ...
my RAM (switched to corsair winbond bh5 with heatspreader) gets freaking hot (by the touch I'd say 60C), I got a couple of fans, but no way to attach them to cool the ram :(
vdimm? for the RAM or your vid card, if it's the vid card gimmie a link to a guide to do it :) I am considering it on my  9800XT

my RGA+/BH5 give me 210 at 2.5-2-2-11 ...

I can go upto 220 on those timings, but 3dmark01 locks up right at the beginning of car chase low detail ... could be mobo?
my barton's celeing is in the 24xx, 2426 is "stable" though
EDIT: I found a way to attach the NB32J to the NB by using the mounting stuff from the 80C-HP ;) going to replace it tomorrow, and see where it will take me.Quote:

I need a way to cool the RAM though ... at 2.9v, it gets extremely hot (60C or more)
Throw a fan onto the RAM, the more voltage you give the BH-5 the faster they run, they love voltages from what I've heard
that's the problem, there is no way that I can attach it so that it always blows air onto the RAM ...
EDIT: I am switching our the Northpole heatsink for the good old trusty Zalman NB32J, I found a way to attach it by using the sliding mount thingies from the heat pipe cooler ...

Just run with side panel off and a fan blowing in ;) Might even improve your oc a bit..The things we do for more points...
OT:Headed off to the Sugar Bowl in a bit...Geaux Tigers! (LSU student)
Exactly, just use a desk fan, that's what mine has been like for quite a while. I'll show you a pic if you want to ;)
or find an old SUN sparc and take the fans out of that.... 600cfm's a piece. they do some nice work.
600?? got a pic of it?

this is crap, I hate 3dmark ... 3dmark is more system dependant than video dependant ... I'm still trying to break 20k, i hate you ... i hate you people with money to burn, just wait 3-4 years when I get a real job ... I'll be pwning you all with 4th gen hammer and nForce6 or w/e will be out by then!!!

all clocks are same except the vid card is now 450/385:
3dmark2001SE = 19514 >> http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7402757
3dmark2003 340 = 6940 >> http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=1830755
slavik, just switch to win2k and dx8.1, that'll give you a few hundred points, then disable some startup stuff and defrag... shouldn't be that hard for you to break 20k
or just oc your video card and 20k is right in front of you
btw, chill out... ;)
this is all frustration ...
btw, I can't format, because I don't want to lose all my settings, although I have a 1.5GB drive sitting in the drawer ... would that be good enough?
btw, it's great that he hit 20k and I'm happy for him, but pissed at 3dmark being system dependant (vid card too fast?)

slavik, your soo close to 20k, i remember in the summer when i was trying to break 20k, oh man that was the hardest thing ever, now i wanna beat 22k, if i had a 875p motherboard, i would break it easy, very easy, because i broke 20k with my IC7-G with 100mhz slower computer, less tweaks, loosing ram timings then i did with my 865p.. but i sold that system. :(
so anyone with any tips with me breaking 22k?
well...it's about time for some benching. well...not quite right now...but when i get back to my dorm room. right now i'm trying to make a list (checklist) of what i need to do. i'm going to be installing win2k. i should go with dx8.1 correct? what else do i need?
You will have to test several drivers and see which ones are best for 3D Marking on your system(check out the 44.03, 40.72 and the 43.45`s) and do a lot of tweaking with Rivatuner.:)Quote:
