I've just started a new game this week end in Eberron. I asked what was missing in the band and ended up with a Cleric (supporting a Paladin, a Psion and what I think was a Seeker, "ranged DPS" was the vibe I got, this particular group is heavily influenced by MMOs and it shows some times). That will be interesting as it was among my favorite class back in the heydays and became Rogue fanatic with 3rd ed. Each time I have an opportunity to play the 4th ed. I take something I've stopped playing because of unwieldy rules, so far it's been a fun experience.
Man we need to get another game going. I'm going through withdraw.
Thanks to a new DDI article posted today I have a great idea for a game. This is going to be more than a one-shot but it will be easy to drop in / drop out. More details as they come, but start thinking Dark Sun.
Make it happen! I'm down for sailing the salt seas of Dark Sun.
Eberron is my gaming campaign of choice. I love the setting! I hope you enjoy yourself. There is so much cool stuff in the setting that I hope your group doesn't get too caught up in the MMO level grind and focuses on the story being told, at least a little.
Let me know if you need anything when it comes to setting info or whatever. I have been playing and running Eberron for years now and am always looking for a reason to talk about it. Happy healing.
Okay, the new DDI article which inspired me was in regards to hunters on Athas so I got to thinking... Monster Hunter... D&D?!
Yeah, it's gonna be awesome.
It takes about 1 to 3 hours (depending on how quick you pick up) of Single Player Mode to get the basics and feel for the game. Eventually you can move on to online play which is pretty straightforward and offers some unique missions and rewards every week.
In fact, I got my special Sharq Lance a few months back from a special online quest :
