Well... Seing as I've never posted pics of my PC on this thread. I'll point you guys to my recent case project thread:

The pics are still up to date except for the fact that the GF4-Ti4200 in the pics is now a 6800GT and I added a 2nd 120Gb Maxtor Plus9 SATA drive to it for the RAID-0 array.

Right now I'm having two probs with it though. My 400W Antec Smart Power PSU isn't giving enough juice to keep both my VC and my CPU O/Ced so I resorted to just O/Cing my CPU to 3.5Ghz and leaving my VC stock. To fix this I'll be buying a new OCZ 520W PowerStream PSU and have it sleaved in the same color scheme by FrozenCPU, I don't want to have to sleave all that again ;) Oh yeah, almost forgot, my UV kit's inverter burned out for some reason so I'll be ordering a replacement inverter for it when I order the PSU, I miss my UV goodness :(

No fair. :( I guess I'm just going to have to do it by hand... :p

Kewl beans... Those look like identical yet rebranded monitors, correct? If so, awesome. Best kind of dual monitor setup is to have identicals.

Wow you're right, I just noticed that! Yeah, the only difference is that the Dell has a thicker base stand:)

edit: You can remove them too right? I think later tonight I'll pop them off if so...

What is that you have your headphones plugged into, and do you have 2 computers hooked to those dual monitors? I only see 1. :eek:

That my friend, would be my PPA-based external solid-state headphone amplificating externally powered listening unit. It's my headphone amp:)

First of all, how can you be doing 2 whole different things at once on 2 monitors wired to 1 computer? :confused:

Next, how much did the amp cost and how much did the headphones cost? Would it really be worth it? I mean, I spend hours a day on Vent and I rely heavily on my headset so I can talk, but I suppose if I'm just gaming or listening to music on an Audigy 2, it'd be pretty nice. :D

What exactly does the amp do? Does it JUST increase volume, or does it actually increase sound quality?

Well, my video card supports dual-monitors, so the second one acts as an extension to my desktop:)

Headphones = $150-$200
Cables = $100
Amp = $300

To me it's all totally worth it, but I'm a huge audiophile. Please don't get into audio, it's an expensive hobby and your wallet will never forgive you:)

Shoot over to the Headphones section if you have more questions, there is just too much information to tell you in this single post.

Oh and to answer your question on the PPA, this is a PPA:)

Holy crap! $100 in cables alone? WOW!

Right now I have my headset plugged in as default, but in the back if I change it, I have a splitter running to my speakers and my stereo, so that it comes out of both. It's not too bad, so I think until I get some money (I owe my mom $90, damn watercooling :p ) I'm good with what I have. :)

I don't know how I'm going to work it, but I'm probably going to ask for an Audigy 2 (should I get Audigy 2 or ZS?) another 74GB Raptor, a DVD burner, and a stack of 100 DVD's. ;) I might pay for some of it myself if I can manage to get the money before Christmas.

As for the dual monitors, what video card do you have, and would my 9800 Pro work? Also, you said that it's an extension of your desktop. :confused: Explain! Do you mean that all you can do is use your desktop on that monitor?

My desktop simply spills over onto that screen. When my mouse gets to the end of my left monitor, it does to the right:) It's logically one desktop, so I can drag certain apps over to the right one (like Foobar, Trillian, my convos etc...). The secondary monitor (on the right) just does have a taskbar on the bottom, it's just open real estate. And yeah, your 9800Pro supports it.

I like you dual monitor setup! Looking nice! I also currently have mine setup with dual monitors...one is a 19" and the other is a 17", though. I'm so tempted right now to buy another 19". Dah...too much money. ;)

Oh, and Xiode, unless you bought your 9800 pro oem it should have come with a cable that allows you to hook a second monitor in.

I did buy it OEM. :( If I remember correctly, it came with some cables though. If I can get a nice 17" or 19" LCD, I might try that dual monitor setup. :D What kind of cable do you have to have and where do you plug it in?

Yeah I'm gonna pick another one up soon. I usually have a towel on top of of the amp where they sit, since I'm always listening to them. The SR60's are getting sold soon to fund the 0404 purchase, so the Senns will have a home again:)

I was thinking of doing that originally, but it'll be better for me to upgrade my source first. I'll save the A500's for a christmas present or something:)

I also wish there was a 0404 card that would support us gamers better, then I could upgrade my source...but noooo, Creative has to have a monopoly on the gaming market :mad:

Actually, Creative makes the 0404, so if you did get one you know (or at least hope) that the A2 and 0404 would play nicely in the same machine:)
