so you are just starting up again? why were you down for so long? i had to stop mine for over 3 weeks because of christmas/new years break and not being allowed to have my comp running. that really dropped me in the ranks.Quote:

OK guys, there is a developing problem with folding and AMD systems. We knew about the dropping units and fixing it with Vcore. Now there seems to be two additional problems with dropping units and freezing on units. The F@H guys say they are talking to AMD and can not talk to us about it. What we need to do is track what units the systems drop and what units the systems choke on. So if you all would drop me a PM when you have a drop or freeze with an AMD system, I will record the data. I will need to know system specs (cpu/chipset/fsb) and work unit number. Also please include the last step completed.
Last night I investigated the log entries from one of my 3000's that I had put Server03 on and found some indications from the counters on the CPU. I made a few adjustments and have been up for 24 hours now with no incomplete units. I need to get a more complete sampling of work units and probably at least 10 days of logging before I can make an educated guess at the cause of the problem. But at this point the work around seems to be keeping the system stable and letting it complete units. Of the three systems that I applied the adjustment to, all are still folding after 24 hours and there has been only one drop and that was a known problem unit. They all are still accepting VNC connections and running scheduled tasks as intended :D :D
If this holds up over a broad range of units and a reasonably long period of time, then I am going to go on a rant the likes of which has not been seen around here in years
so no direct info now? that's too bad. and how can you view what tinker you were working on if you get a hard crash? doesn't the log file get cleared? seems to do that for me...maybe i'm wrong, though.Quote:

The log file would still be there.. It gets updated everytime it passes a save point...Quote:

So as long as you dont restart the folding before checking the log you should be good..
I got upset because my P3 500Mhz box was folding and made it through 90% on a 60 point tinker.. And I rebooted the box and it started at ZERO.. I was like... NO WAY...
So I deleted the core and downloaded a new one :)
Well it is easy enough to fix..Quote:

A. Delete and download new WU
B. Overclock until unstable and it will send whatever results it did finish for some points :D
