But it's not very useful in measuring how good an individual player is.
Is Dilfer one of the better QBs of all time?
Mark Rypien?
Doug Williams?
In some of these cases... even in their respective year that they won the SB?

Actually to clarify, winning the "Super Bowl" is the most important stat. Just ask Payton last year before he won his.Quote:

I never heard of this team Trent Dilfer...what conference are they in? They must be real good though if the won a superbowl.
no kidding, you ever play tecmo trent? just like real life only trent isn't as badass.Quote:

cause marvin walks on water, literally... reggie wayne, he can take the heat cause he's just a buster playing in god's shadow, you leave my boy marvin alone.
Marvin doesn't show up in any big games I've seen. He definitely avoids contact whenever possible. But who can blame him for that? He one of the best all time, so limiting injuries is probably a factor in that.
I just wish he would have one of those great games in a playoff game I'm watching.
The standard of a QB having to win a SB to be considered a success in the NFL is a complete joke.
More than any other sport... football is a TEAM game. I have a hard time thinking of any major team sport where one man's herculian effort very well can still result with his team still losing.
There have been plenty of crappy QBs who have won SBs, and even more great QBs who didn't have the good fortune of having enough talent (or had the misfortune of having key injuries hit the team) to pull off a SB win.
To me... a SB win is the cherry on top of the cake for a QB's career... but it's not the WHOLE cake.
After watching Culpepper in last nights pre-season game, it looks like the starting job is his to lose. Local newspapers seem to concur. The way he ran the ball you'd never know he had such a devastating knee injury a few years ago.
Happy to see the Rams lose, anyway.
I don't know why he's invisible in playoff games, maybe manning is under too much pressure, more than he can handle and looks for easier targets that aren't being double covered.... marvin is 6 foot and a buck 75, i don't think he avoids contact, in fact he goes across the middle where receivers like randy moss just flat out refuse to do.Quote:
