I always wanted to ask that question.
With the intellimouse explorer, when you play a game, lets say quake3, dont you guys get the mouse totally off the surface to move it more? yea i know my english sux hmm, you know if you want to move left non stop, you cant just drag your mouse all over the desk right? so when you move it back to the initial position, does it still move with the intellimouse? cause it detects movement no?

But the transfer phase to an Optical Mouse wasn´t pacific and easy .
I had the Inteli Explorer at home for 3 days the when it came out and guess what i didn´t liked it .
But as time went by i got more and more tired of cleaning my Mouse all the time ( i cleaned my Mouse every day 2 or 3 times , we have very much dust in the summer here in Portugal ) I payed 3 or even more hours per day (i play UT much more than Q3 ) .
So when i talked to a friend of mine and he shared his Inteli Explorer experience with me i decided to go out and buy one for me .
He toled me that it can take quiet a long time to get uesed to the Inteli Explorer , but after you get uesed to it it really rocks that is if you are no Tresh and don´t make no insanly fast movements with the Mouse https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/06/6.gif

I suggest that you go to a store, and fell how all of them are in your palm. The best one for you will be the most comfortable one that has a decent resoulution. Hell, i have a crappy 15 dollar CompUSA dual scroll wheel mouse and it works fine for me (a bit of a pain when sniping and i cant move just 1 pixel, but oh well)
