The Thirteenth Production being a Dutch developer got strong opposition from the Dutch Soccer Association (KNVB) and the British BBFC resulting in the game being banned from stores such as EB, Dixons, Bart Smit and so on.

I wish people would get over their "issues". I mean, everyone gets so worked up about portrayals, give me a break! I for one, would like the idea of someone thinking I was as cool as the mafia. I do play violent games, but I do not agree with some of the bs that goes on in them. I play Q3 from time to time, I find it depressing with all the satanic pentegrams and crap. I also play Rune, where you brutaly hack and slash your aponent to death with melee weapons. I also play Tribes, not a very violent game besides the point that you just kill the opposing team.
But to me, a game where you Murder helpless peoples, old ladies, and children, I say thats a bit too far for a game. it seems now a day that games can be anything and involve anything. I see people that want sex in thier games.
The thing I tryed to point out is the moral of this game. And the fact that I saw my friends little brother (8 years old) looking at this game, and wanting to play it. He will probbly get this game when it does come out.....it just makes me feel bad. He can go buy this game and sit and play it, but yet cannot get a +14A movie. seem a bit stupid to you? Does to me.

ahhh.. the chance to lose my self in illusion.. and take my petty frustrations on imaginative things...
that is the prob with games.. most people miss the key word GAMES .
If people had their way .. we should ban, hockey, football, lacrosse, rugby, hopscotch... these all deter from lifes stress.
Yet, all time most people get lost in the melodrama of the game and forget it is a game.
They chose to live the game in the here and now as opposed to the fantasy realm.
These people can be our friends, family, pets, and neighbours.
My cousin was so involved in CS, he started wearing regalia (army clothes)...
I told him to relax and be aware of where he is going.... I also said you would be concerned if I starting carrying chain mail armor and a sword...i play mostly mmorpgs..
anyway I am off track peace enjoy get the flame torches, gas cans, sticks and what ever is handy...on the screen not on the street...

My (more) 2 cents...
When I play a game that involves killings or driving at 180MPH in a BMW, I do it for one reason only... I can't do it in real life. It's cool to know you can kill someone in a virtual world and not have to go to jail for it. I mean, that's why they have prisons and legal systems, because too many people would just do whatever the heck they wanted and not care... so since we have laws against murder, I'll just kill my friends in virtual land.

true, violence is present in most games but this is not only violence. it's gone too far.
sure it's a game and everything is virtual but i just don't see why anyone sane would feel the need to "virtually" kill innocent people in a game.
i mean if you get extra satisfaction out of killing virtual innocent people rather than virtual terrorists then I'd say there's something seriously wrong with you.

Ehhh I agree 50/50 on this one. I mean the point is valid and in most games you kill the "bad guys" and since this is the only game (besides GTA3) that I know of that you can kill innocent people this is bound to have a controversial effect.

If you dont like it, dont play it. As for telling people they are going to hell,if brainwashed people can choose what the content of the media I choose to watch contains, thats hell to me. Dont push your religous propoganda here. Until you can prove it exists, dont push it on other people. I find that very offensive. The only way you go to far is, if you accept what you are doing in a game as being real. Like I said if you are not mentally strong enough to not know imaginary from real, play solitaire. I have a sick sense of humor, and games like this TOTALLY appeal to me. I hope they get much worse. But, I'm also a sane person who realizes the difference between reality and make-believe.
If a game/movie supposedly makes you violent, you have other issues that would've brought the violence out anyways. Even if you're a violent person without the help of video games and movies you're a sick individual. I'm quick to anger, but short of someone raping my mom or my wife, I have no reason to hit anyone.
Next, like someone else just said If you don't like it turn it off. This goes for parents too. Watch your goddamn children!!! Kids in Columbine? Parents fault! Kid that flew his plane into a building in Florida. Parents fault! Listen to your f'n kids, raise them up right, and let me playing my f'n video games with people's arteries exploding!
