Glad you found it okay this time... sorry I had to jet, I had to pick a friend up on the way back to go to a party with beer and no comps.

That was only my second time playing DoD and I actually enjoyed it this time. The first time I wasn't so hot on it, it looked like a really crappy mod and I couldn't understand why people like playing it. Maybe I just like being on the Axis team better. :D

I'm still full from that pizza... I ate most of the supreme since no one else wanted any. Eh free food... not safe around me.

This sucks now, I only play MP on LANs because I have 56k. Now I'll be bored until the next local LAN. :(

yeah, i didnt like dod very much last time either. but i think that was due to the fact that i was getting my *** kicked pretty hard. this time i was doing fairly well. although you did have some pretty sweet shots on me! ouch! i didnt get much pizza. i didnt eat the supreme cause i hate mushrooms!!! everyone ate the pepperoni pizza right up! i will hopefully see you at the next lan. mabey by then i will have a new hd and like an extra 500 or so mp3's for you to leech off of me :D.

Did you see what sight posted on the LAN page? We swapped about 30GB worth of data at the LAN. :eek:

That's not including the stuff traded via burned CD's -- and every time I looked over at Ranger he had CloneCD cookin' away. :D

Look for Donald Glaude's Pumpin' from the Off the Hook album. Some real thumpin' bass; have heard some kick-*** uber-BPM remixes of it in a few clubs. Manohmanohmanohman.. :eek:

Actually the whole album is pretty good -- some house, progressive, jungle, drum 'n bass, techno -- Moonshine [lame HardOCP speak] teh winnar! [/lame HardOCP speak]

I like techo music (some) but it's very simple music. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just very repetitive and some of it gets real annoying after awhile.

Not trying to start a flame war hear, just my oppinion;)

well i dont think techno is very simple at all. techno is a very broad music. some stuff is very repetitive. it all depends in the type of techno genre you are listening to. try some crystal method or some chemical brothers. i bet you would like basement jaxx. i love them.

I agree with you... but the best thing about techno/progressive/house is that it is repetitious for a reason -- to make it easier to dance to. I don't see how anyone can dance to Top 40 crap, it just escapes me. Now with techno you have a steady bass beat which, depending on the emphasis, can have a very danceable beat no matter how fast the actual music is.

Some people don't like the cyclic aspect of techno... and some people whine about Tool's songs being too long. It just goes with the territory.

must dance music techno type stuff(trance, rave, ect.) is very repetative and as you said is very easy to dance to. but other stuff has its purpose and is not repetative. especially electronica.

on another note, dl the song called we bust by west coast bad boys. its a rap song but it has such a tight beat and has pretty nice bass.....and if you want a really good pretty fast beat then dl essential vibes by brooklyn bounce(one of my fav!)

and by the way, that song you mentioned by donald glaube is pretty cool. and on another note i finally got a 20 gig hd for my mp3's!!!! so the next lan party i will have lots more mp3's to give! i already have over 2000+ now.

Well, I haven't heard of Digital Explosion, but I am very much into the electronic music genre. Trance, break beats, progressive, some techno...hehe, its my obsession.

Some people here say that its simple and repetitive. Hmm, well, repetitive, it is, but simple...hehe, far from it. Its much more complex and thoughtout than rap/hip hop/pop will ever be, and, even though I do like rock, I would say that its more complex than that as well. Of course, not all trance is like that...there's a crapload of commercial mainstream trance (like ATB, Blank & Jones, Aquagen, Darude...a few others I can't think of) which is quite simple and plain, so if thats what you listened to, then yes, I agree with you. But if you look around and listen to productions by real artists who aren't in it for the money and their main goal isn't to get their 3 minute cookie-cutter single on the air for a few weeks, then you'll find some really good, thought-out (and yes, repetitive...but also progressive) music. Electronic music is one of the hardest genre's to write for; creating all the layers of synths and their timing, along with a beat (thats probably the simplest, but still requires some work) and creating a bassline...heheh, trust me, its not simple.

Some examples; Paul van Dyk - For An Angel, BT - Flaming June, Hybrid - Finished Symphony and Dreaming Your Dreams, Carl Cox - Phuture 2000 (Hybrid remix), Gouryella - Tenshi, Chicane - Autumn Tactics (Thrillseekers mix), Sasha - Xpander...I could go on for a few more hours, but I'll stop there.
