Here is some advice from someone who has been there and done that :D
Look at boot camp like its a game. If you take it serious it will get to you. Trust me, boot camp is fun. I had a blast in boot.
When you get out you will be green and everyone will pick on you when you go to your first unit. Don't worry, its all fun and look at it as such. Don't take it personal. You wouldn't believe how many people take it serious and screw up their term.
Look at your work as any other job. Work hard and enjoy it, its what you get paid to do. Especially look at deployment this way.
Finally, you are going to establish friendships like you never had in your life. Be out going and try not to be judgmental. Hang out with over acheivers and try not to hang out with anyone that will bring you down and believe me there are some that can.
I miss being in the Military. I had some of the best times in my life when I was in the service and I hope you do to.

Why do you think the third world countries hate us so much? If we had done things correctly from the start (I dont just mean in response to 9/11! All of the past few presidents have made terrible mistakes with foreign relations) we wouldn't even be a target for terrorism!

They had this debate on Politicaly Incorrect last night and there was a guy there (UN inspector former USMC) even him himself stated that bush is a moron and they should have done this whole thing through covert operations instead of bombing with b 52s and whatever and they would have got bin ladden.

Actually, we havn't treated the muslims very well at all! Few Americans cared that we were fighting on the Arab holy-land during the persian gulf war! Also, we support Israel far too much! True, the palestinians have done terrible things to them, but the Israelis are just as guiltly of the same thing! There is so much media attention to when the Palestinians do something terrible against the Israelis, but when the Israelis do something just as terrible (or worse), news of that is often shut out! During the 1940's, the Jewish people pretty much took the land away from the palestinians, who have been there since the 900's A.D.! The only reason we supported Israel then is because we felt so sorry for not helping them avoid persecution from the Germans during WWII! If Israel keeps expanding, the palestinians wont even have a piece of land to call home! Its perfectly understandable why they hate us so much!Quote:
