Help me build a SUPER COMPUTER!!

I am going to just save $800 and just go a single CPU

Do I need a special video card for the LCD screen?

What will the radeon 9700 be like?

I might buy a GF4 then upgrade when i comes out i guess

Does anyone else know about ISDN connections or modems?

RAMBUS OR DDR?!??!!

What about the noise level what stuff can I get to reduce it?

PS and for everyone asking and e-mailing me about my busines, it would not be wise for me to give out my secret and have 1000 people as competition sorry lol the reason I even mentioned it is so I wouldnt have "get a AMD!! You will save $50!!" posts

if you go pentium 4 definately go with the rambus with your budget. At stock speeds it will outperform ddr by a noticable ammount. If your goinng to oc go with ddr but science you dont want to do that go rambus. it is well worth the extra cash.

Does anyone know a place that has a better dead pixel policy than NEWEGG.com's 8? It would stink to spend $700 only to get 7 dead pixels :-(

ok thanks ill go with rambus, the extra power is not worth the risk of overclocking IMO

Congrats on your business fortunes :)

I just wanted to warn you from spending all your money at once. If you have bad luck you might go back to only making 50$ a day and then you would have wasted way to much money on a computer. Buy a computer that's not that expensive or wait a couple of weeks to see if you still make 500$ a day at that point, if you still make the same money you can blow all this money on a computer without having to worry.

This is just my opinion....

Well, what do you sell? What is your business? I mean you have a lot of potential customers around here. I've never met someone so protective of a business. LoL. We aren't looking for the 'secret' to the business, more or less just what you do/sell/provide.

Well, your system looks pretty good, but with your budget and with the request of "top of the line" ditch the 4600 and get the 9700...it has the DVI output and mops the floor with the 4600 for less than a hundred bucks more.

Those are not commercial RAM sticks. Since LAM Research is the main supplier now for Micron Tech., we umm, get stuff from them lol. Altough Micron is going to release one gig DDR-RAM sticks in about 3-4 months. BUT you still can find them in corporations, like on customized workstations. I got mine off a fellow worker who didnt want his RAM, and he got it off a sell off at LAM half a year ago. So yeah :D

The 9700 is about $100 more than the Ti4600. It's not even gonna be out until September or so :p

yah, can you please tell us what you do? The reasons are:

1) We are potential customers

2) Most of us are older and already have jobs so we can't also do yours

3) The rest of us are too damn lazy to do your work, it seems to me that it is very taxing..

4) If it takes a certain skill (aka good at photoshopping) it will even more so limit the people who could do your job.

My suggestion is, why do you need a super computer? Unless you are doing heavy graphic design but... isnt mac better for graphic designing (please do not stone me)? I mean if you do not get the flagship you can save a couple of hundred and buy an airconditioner, or get a retirement plan set up so you can retire by 35 :)

Well, the price he quoted for the 4600 he was looking at was over 300 bucks. The MSRP of the 9700 is 399 bucks so even if he pays MSRP that's less than 100 bucks like I originally said. It also supposed will be out mid august not september.
