My Epox 8KHA+ with a 1/5 divider can't do 10.5x166 because of my Crucial PC2100 :( with an AGOIA Y 0213. Not 10.5x166 even with 3.2 vmem and 1.85 vcore.
Very nice, mystif. I'm anxious to see if you can do 2GHz, just to see what you can do at 2GHz in benches. :)

Your not even unlocking these saps or mystif? WOW! I might need to save 50 bucks and get a 1600+ instead of a 2000+.. Inform me.. Oh yes, i will be running a 8k5a2+ and my Sammy PC 2700, 256mb, CTL baby!~
damn drew, i really hope i can oc mine as well as yours :D i just came back from fry's, and i got a new stick of 512mb corsair pc3200 xms cas2.5 . We'll see how this baby whirls and i'll let you all know.
Thanks. Like I said originally, the 2116 BIOS was rumored to have a 1.5, I cannot personally verify this even though I ran 170Mhz FSB on that board. New ram should help, my crucial on that board didn't get that far ;)Quote:

I am guessing it's fairly new. The AROIA Y, and AGOIA Y chips are the best overclockers, and almost everyone have received them when buying the new 1600+s. ;)
No need to unlock (yet). I thought I would have to, but I get to have fun without all the work :p You should definitely get the 1600+ instead of a 2000+, it will be a far better choice. ;)Quote:

I was riding along at 166MHz FSB for a while. It was stable at 1.75 vcore and 2.9 vmem as long as I didn't do anything intensive like Quake3 or 3DMark.Quote:

No worries. I'm going to either unlock my XP1600+ or wait until I get an Epox 8K5A2 + some PC2700 when X-mas arrives.

To be honest you would be better off buying a stick of PC2700 than unlocking your chip at this point, and just wait on a new board. Good Luck :)
I think it is my PC2100 RAM. I tried both 1.75 vcore/2.9 vmem & 1.85 vcore/3.2 vmem and both had the same results: Stable as long I didn't do anything that was memory intensive like 3D based applications.Quote:

*edit* Anyway here are some of my results:
1.67GHz was not too stable. Crashed in 3DMark during the dragothic benchmarks.
1.6GHz was stable in Windows 2000 without a service pack. Windows 2000 with a service pack or Windows XP are not stable. I couldn't run my GeForce3 Ti200 at 220/465 (as far as it goes stably) so I had to back it down to 175/400 for perfect stability on the Windows 2000 w/no SP partition.
1.53GHz works great. However 220/465 isn't perfectly stable. Something like 215/444 works however.
Jago, I had all kinds of OC'ing probelms with my new 1600+. I had two sticks of 256 2100 both crucial bought at the same time. I took out one and found a great improvment. At this point I assume it was just because I had two. I installed my second chip solo and found I could not post above 144 fsb. I reseated with no improvment. With my Other stick I could hit 150 easy. I swapped both sticks for a single 512 crucial 2100 from work. I ran at 151 FSB all weekend Gaming, and 3D design work. I still have seen no sign of even a small glitch. I even have my video card run at its Max OC. Funny thing is I can't post at 152. It seems to very ram sensitive. Course I am sure they all are

The reason is going after maximum FSB. My max FSB is 187/188 with this ram so the 10.5 multiplier just happens to be the best for me. However, if you have ram which can do 190 or 200 or more than dropping down would be advisable.Quote:

I was going to unlock the 2000+, drop multi to 10 and fsb to 200.. so I should just go for say 195 fsb with the 1600+? Im using a type W, Lian Li PC 71 with all 6 fans, my HDD in a removable HDD cooler, plus my 550 watt Enermax dual fan.. Here I come 2ghz:eek:
185 with my Crucial was stable enough to bench, IIRC 178Mhz FSB was the highest I could do with it being completely stable. ;)Quote:
