ROFLMAO! that's hilarious! and it's less clutter than my solution which consists of stacking beer cans ;)

Yeah now on to a serious note.
They really should get a new ad in that slot, and I have finally thought of a reason why.
Its an AD, for a product targeted at an audience, the 26k registered users and countless thousands of other guests that visit this site. WHile there is no chance that all 26k of us are going to just up and buy an AMD processor. But I would wager that there is a core of users here that either directly/indirectly for business or pleasure do computer consulting.
For Example Personally I have consulted 5 individuals to buy/build AMD systems and the business that I am working for is in the process of purchasing a dozen AMD system based in part on my recommendation, so in the last year. Including myself, I am responsible for the sale of 18 AMD CPUs.
Imagine if 1000 users in this forum had this kind of sway. Thats around 20k CPUs that get purchased on our recommendation. I am sure if you compare that to how many units AMD moves in a year it becomes a measureable percentage.
No I am not saying that AMD/Internet.com should bow down to our awesome market share. But if a new AD keeps us happy about AMD then to quote Napolean "Let them eat Cake."
I agree with that post. I have done the same with friends, and family members. However, I think one thing they have not thought about, is that I would wager to say that the percentage of people here who use AMD procs is larger than that of people who use Intel chips. I know I did not build AMD systems for people because I saw an ad. I would think that AMD would be better served using more money on TV ads instead of on ads for a site that does probably not need much advertising. Most people hear know that for the price, AMD usually puts out a better chip. Its the average person who watches TV that has no clue about AMD, and the price/performance advantage they provide. ***I AM NOT TRYING TO GET INTO A FLAME WAR, THIS IS JUST MY OPINION*** I think the ads are getting old, and I know that the company does have to pay to have these things up everyday. My advice to them would be to put that money to better use: TV ads, newspapers, magazines, etc. I really want to see AMD succeed more than anything, because it means lower prices and faster chips for everyone. I just think it would be more beneficial for them to try another method of advertisement, because I don't think the people they are trying to reach with these ads are the people who browse these forums.
B.T.W. Boogy Man, that idea is ingenious. Nice going. :D :D

i'm actually suprised at the likeness of the picture and his drawing. he is a true artÃ*st! LOL
I think it's the nose hairs that do it in the picture...it just adds the extra layer of realism, and makes the picture the piece of art that it is (and should be recognised as).Quote:

That and the ear flaps...
But then we all know there's more to a man than his ear flaps...
Holy thread hijacking, Batman!
I do my best, mon ami. Naturally with the increased temperatures here in the pole I'm getting a little brain fried, but I feel my fans must come first (I've got some order from Ikea as well!) so I continue with my wittiness, knowing full well that it may be the last wise crack I ever make.Quote:

I love it!

If only SWW, Galen, AMD forever and many others would visit...it'd be just like my long lost home.
This thread sure does bring back memories...though I must say, that little penguin's audacity is rather surprising.
I propose a non-violent sit-in this thread.
Snacks will be provided
...now if only we had some flames with which to roast this spam I could put my gourmet cheffin skills to use...
