I'm now running my 1600 100% stable at 2012 mhz.

BTW, nice article, I've been a part of the 1600 craze for a while (having tested 5 of them now!) and I thought it summed things up nicely. I do believe the record is around 2.1 ghz though from someone either using a TEC or phase change. I read about it on amdmb forums a while back.
I was going for the record here, not the record elsewhere, because I have seen a few past 2.2Ghz with some nice exotic cooling. Well it seems you get number one spot over here :)Quote:

Cool, I set a record for sharky I guess! :) Thx man. I'm debating about getting a TEC to play around w/ next so who knows, maybe I'll get 2.1 before I burn this thing up, hehe.
At $53 a pop burning one up doesn't seem like too much of a dent in the pocket book. I know thats why i am so psyched about the new T-Bred B chips. If I can get an 1800+ or so for around $60, and push 2.2 GHz, I will be so happy. Speeds like that for the price AMD is giving them away at is incredible.

Well written article, but if you want to appear more professional in future, its actually GHz, not Ghz. ;-)
There were several points that I almost changed (GHz included), but I overlooked because I didn't want the article to lose all personality. Several correct uses of grammar, and correct abbreviations were not changed, because I still wanted to be mystifmagic, Andrew, or myself. :)Quote:

I can find something wrong with many reviews so far as grammar etc. But i like it. It makes it "feel" more personal, like it was written by a real person and pieces were not taken from some other proof read site.Quote:

that was posted at the end of the site. is that true? factory unlocked or something? i plan to get a 1600+ for my new comp (cpu is something i gotta be cheap with). well, good job saps n mystif, hopefully newegg doesn't run out of 1600's and mwave still has the a7n8x's next week when i order...Quote:

Not unlocked. My 1600+ at 1.95Ghz is locked. I don't really recall anyone unlocking their chips to get above 1.8-1.9Ghz, because they are just great overclocking CPUs. Just remember that 1.9Ghz hump will take more than 1.85vcore to get over; typically (which teh a7n8x doesn't offer). Good Luck :)Quote:

If I remember most people have not unlocked their 1600's. According to Soul Edge, however, he has. But, most of the OC's I have seen from the chip have been at the stock multi. If you are considering going with this chip, do not let that be too much of a turn off. This chip is great, even though it does not come with the unlocking option the T-Bred does.
