Now that people have gotten 9800's from retail stores, has anybody gotten an FX from a retail store yet? My local BB should have some 9800's in the next couple days..but there's no sign of FX's.

Which is exactly why I plan on getting a 9700Pro after a month of the 9800's being out. I dont think its worth the extra money.Quote:

I think I read somewhere (Hard maybe?) that some 5800 was being scrapped, and only sold to those that preordered, and not to retail.
That might be inaccurate, but regardless, I don't think I'd take a chance selling the 5800 Ultra. If I were Nvidia I'd scrap it and try to focus on NV35 for now, and MAKE SURE it's stable and WORTH the performance it brings. I don't think they're in any real danger if they put the 5800 away and wait it out for a little while longer, it's not like they're going bankrupt anytime soon.
i am like colossus, waiting for the 256mb and comparisons between the 9700 pro/9800 pro 128/ 9800 pro 256
Your all crazy white people, butI forgive you:D . Anyways, I can barely afford my current state so a 9800 Pro is way out of the question. I may like computers but to dish out 500 for one part... That's just insane. With 500 I could get like a Case+Mobo+CPU&Cooler+Ram and maybe a HDD, all depends (like the diaper) on what Brands of stuff I get but hey...
I saw some FX's at a local retail store here. They had two on the shelves. IT was the MSI brand and the boxes were HUGE. I went back the next day and they were gone. I feel sorry for the poor saps that got them ;)
I guess I should put my FX up on EBay now. Having a hard time selling it around here. Even for 299.00 people are going 'no thanks'
I preordered the 9800 Pro at a local CompUSA, should be in soon, I would imagine.

I think most people are wise, although two people on this very forum said they are buying the FX ultra. I saw them on ebay for $600 last month, but now youd probably get maybe $400 if that, lemmie check, ok they sell for $450 or so now. You would have kicked yourself if you sold it for $299, I *told* you to try ebay first!!!!!!!!!!
If it shipped tuesday, when should we start seeing in stores like CompUSA and Best Buy??
I'm gettin one...for $200 :D
One of my girl friend's dad's works at ATI and she's hookin me up ;)
HELLLL YEAH :D
If I didnt have to juggle having 3 gf's maybe I'd get one too. lol! Sometimes having variety doesnt always pay off. :)
I really can't see the point upgradeing at the moment. I just don't play enough games to justify it. Maybe next year I'll grab the 9700Pro (if doom 3 ever is released) but I think the 9800Pro is just not worth the money at the moment.
Cheers,
Doom 3 has been said to NOT be released before E3 but it will be released soon after.Quote:

Oh, and this... http://www.nordichardware.com/#95
Thought I'd share it with everyone. Looks pretty good not to mention it's physical appearance.
However, it doesn't look like the original ATi board that's on the ATi website. What company manufactured this one?
No thanks, why get this when you can get a 9600, or a 9500... half the cost, and notice no significant differnece in games.
Sorry but the difference between 100 FPS, and 150 FPS isn't worth a 200 dollar premium. I am still wondering why people buy these cards, I mean yeah your hardcore I suppose, but... you mean to tell me, you can't save the money and buy a 9500.
What I really don't get is, why people by the most high end card everytime a new high end card comes out? Thats like buying the fastest car, everytime a new car comes out thats faster than the fastest one before, even though the differnce is messaured in seconds?
Seriously if you are buying this card because you want the highest 3DMark, I truly feel sorry for you:(
Now, I suppose of you have the money to throw around, then it's a much easier choice, as everything is when one has lots of money. But even if I had the money, I would question the buy.
