What that means is that i'm not going to go through returning speakers all the time. I'll give it a go once but if they burn me again they can forget my business with their multimedia stuff.Quote:

It just goes to show I don't favor one manufacturer over another. I believe in whats best for the money, regardless who makes it. I think if there is a flaw with these then it should be shared with others considering them. Hopefully its fixed but like I said before, i'm not going to go through the z560 crap. I'll do it once thats all.Quote:

edit: oh yeah, actually I think I pushed the altec 641's more than the promedia's. But up until now, yes, i did push them plenty.
I would also like to add, directly from a thread in the klipsch forums, that several retailers are discontinuing carrying the promedia 5.1's due to overwhelming returns. Including bestbuy, where I bought mine.
Warranties are inplace for a defective product. It protects the consumer from the exact problem you are having...
I would complain! They will replace it... I would only complain if they said it is my fault that they are blown/damaged... You should be happy they will honnor the return after a year or more!
Every manufacture had released a defective product by accident... Its not like its something new??? So why act like it???
You should be happy that they will most likely give you a brand new set! From there you can sell it and move on or just continue using them :)
I had originally wanted to go with the megaworks 650's but seeing as they have fixed the problem I'm going back to my original choice of the PM 5.1's. I hope I'm not disappointed with them in Doom 3 or music :)

Happy??? Because I get to pay to ship these to klipsch because of there screw up??? I've owned many electronics and this is the first i've had problems with, no i'm not happy.
Why? because my a$$ is the one that pays for it once then pays again when their junk screws up. It shouldn't be my hassle. As far as i'm concerned they should have to come pick my set up, fix it, bring it back, and give me a set to use while they are fixing THEIR flaw.Quote:

Now I dont want to start an argument but you know how stupid that sounds???? Why should they go out to your house and do all that for you?? Well they might at $100/hr at least... If you want to go that route..Quote:

Shipping it not a big deal, what did it cost $25 to ship it ground??? Come on... Its not the end of the world...
Sometimes developers dont realise a flaw until after it is released... Look at all the games on the market.. They supply updates and patches to fix the game after it is released... So should they come over to your house and install the patch???
If you dont want to the hassle with dealing with warranties... Then make it yourself! Otherwise there will always be warranties and shipping fees associated with it..
It lasted over a year.. I dont call that junk or defective.. The only time a product in my eyes is junk is when it doesnt last longer then a month under normal abuse :)
A year??? When I spend $400 on a multimedia system I expect much more than a year. Hey, I paid my part and bought their product. Just because they built it faulty shouldn't be my problem. As stupid as it may sound to you it doesn't to me. Remember, you are a retailer you have different views than me and others. Regardless how little $25 is its still $25 that shouldn't be my problem. I bought them in a bestbuy, I didn't pay to have them shipped in the first place. Nobody said it was the end of the world. You seem to be making much more of a scene of this thread then I am worried about the speakers. I'm just not a happy customer any more. I could have kept quiet and still said klipsch pm5.1's are the greatest so everyone should buy them. However, I found a flaw with mine so I let it be known. Again, one year is NOTHING for life of a product. If things only lasted a year who would ever want to buy anything? I'm not trying to start a fight here either but I find it kind of rediculous when people defend the companies selling faulty items and not the customers who get screwed in the end. If I would have blown them abusing them I would have a whole different outlook on it. But when its a manufacturers flaw then I see no reason why they shouldn't have to go out of their way to make the situation right. I'm talkin a new set sent overnight with a return PAID shipping slip sent with them.Quote:

I was looking at it in a consumer role not as a retailer... Thank You!
And since it was just your set that has a problem doesnt mean the unit was defective.. It is possible it was something that you did to them that cause the problem.. They have no way of knowing.. So my original statement stands..
So what if you paid $400 over a year ago.. Things go defective. Its like my favorite saying "S*** happens".
Its as simple as that :)
1ctabor, I agree with you completely. A $400 set should not have these problems and should definately last more than a year. It is a Klipsch problem and you should of let them know that when you were on the phone with them. I told them that it wasn't fair for me to pay for shipping and they sent shipping labels to me. You should of been complaining to klipsch on the phone, and not to the forum. That said, I think Klipsch did the proper thing by extending the warranty on them. They fessed up to there problem and are helping out the consumers. Don't see what else you can ask for. Afterall, they are human.
Colossus, if you were to actually read into the problem with these you'd know it isn't just MY set but many others too. NO it isn't something I caused that did it, please. Why don't you try researching the problem a bit before you argue it, it'd do you much better in the end. So, your original statement doesn't mean much here when you apparently don't know much on the subject. Yeah, sh*t happens, but not when its my $400.;)Quote:

Then there are others that just never satisfied... I admit I did not search into the problem since I do know about 15 people personally that owns the PM5.1 and not even a single problem.. Just because a few... And a mean a FEW people had problems doesnt mean it wasnt caused by them or whatever...
There is nothing wrong with paying whatever to ship the item back and then a new set in return.. Would you rather they ship you a scratched up dented set that was fixed prior??? Come on get off of it.
Your trying to polish a turd. Like I said before, READ INTO IT, and you'll see that its more than a FEW people with the problems. I don't see your logic here colossus. I mean, you're saying its ok for bum products to go out and the consumer who already paid for them should have to keep paying for them to have a working set??? Thats sounds pretty stupid to me. Hows this, say you ordered a hundred systems for your store or whatever it is you run and they all got a recall because of some faulty capacitor that explodes or whatever. Do you think you should be responsible for the cost of shipping all those systems back to them to be fixed or replaced? Do me a favor colossus, go to www.klipsch.com and click on that little button on top that says FORUM. Then go to where it says 5.1 general questions. Do a little reading just on the thread headings and you tell me its only a FEW people. So how about you step down and get off of it. Its funny because I really don't even think about my set being dead until I get on these forums and see these bogus responds from you about my speakers that you honestly don't know a whole lot about. I think you make me mad at klipsch not my dead speakers.:)Quote:

Is that what you tell customers when they have a problem?Quote:
