My friend says some ram was made for fast timings so slow timings dont give more MHz. my corsair ram wont oc more on slow timings so obviously I run 2-2-2-6-t1 at 182fsb, I can get 186 if I go past 3v which is insane so I use 2.95 at 182fsb :)

I just got some of that Buffalo PC3700 too. Wouldn't go over 181 relaxed. A guy told me to kick it down to 2.5 and it worked. Running 196 smooth now (need a vdd. mod).
Also, I've heard many folks say that they can't get as high an fsb in dual as opposed to a single stick.

you have no idea what your ram will do, all your conclusions are based on a motherboard that tops @186FSB.
PC3200 is more than likely overclocked pc2700 stuffs.
you cheap the ram, it comes back to bite you in the end.
i have PC3500, nice stuffs, nice to have for forays into 225FSB DC, but for everyday ops, 200FSB running turbo, dual channel is real sweet.
thinking of getting some pc3700 stuffs, just because.............
baldy
I didn't say that the RAM is bad or that I don't like it.
It can do 180MHz @ 2-2-2-3, but that is NOT enough.
I tried running 166MHz FSB and the RAM at 200MHz @ 2-3-3-7, no luck ... was stable to boot into windows, but then windows crashed.
Well if you want to run at 200fsb sync you need the vdd. to do it. It may very well be more of chipset voltage (vdd.) problem than a ram problem. I know that's the case w/ my 8rda and it's 1.58 vdd. It'll run at 200fsb sync, but crashes during games. Hell, it'll run way over 200 async, but async sucks for memory performance.
am i like the only one that has no problems with my NF2 and HyperX??:confused:Quote:

Man am i a lucky person i can run my good old crucial ddr pc 2100 all the way up to 213 in dual channle with good timings not 2 all the way accross but still good. Try lowering those timings alittle. Also i havent heard great things abotu the IGPs hitting over 190fsb so that might be the issue.
my Vdd is at 1.8v
it runs 200MHz FSB async as long as the RAM at 166MHz.

Try setting it to CAS 2.5
Worked for mine. Same RAM.
I even tried 3-4-4-7, no luck, I am refunding the ram (minus the restock fee), and getting XMS3500C2 (2 512MB dimms).
