I'm don't really feel like pricing it out in detail, but my guess would be aroung 800-1000 for my rig.

According to the salesman at Computer Renaissance, my xp2100/soltek kt333/512mb pc2100 ... are worth $60 total. Pshhh ...

Ok let me analysize the price of your rig:
monitor......
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...146227-0883042
$160 new, $100 used. Ok $100 is your monitor's worth, not $75.
now the cpu, sorry thats $80 at least. I saw those at my computer show dude. also $80 is for one that wont overclock. as for the ram, thats $150 *per* stick. Yes ram prices have gone up, up, up for the holidays. Ti4600s sell for about $160 used. You forgot the harddrive, modem and any other hardware
Are you saying that your POS lil 40x is better than a liteon 52x?!?! Dude... you speak of quality... yet, you've obviously never heard of lite-on, lol. I wouldnt be surprised if your CD rom drive is made by liteon, hahaha.
But anyways... like I have already said... your pricing is way off.
Viewsonic E70..... 75 bucks
2100+............. 60 bucks
1024mb HyperX 3000 150 bucks
8RDA+..............70 bucks
Geforce 4 TI4600...120bucks
16x pioneer DVD....35 bucks
52x liteon cDRW....45 bucks
40gb Maxtor........40 bucks (dollar a gig)
40gb WD............40 bucks
In Win full tower..40 bucks
cables n sh!t......40 bucks
It doesnt matter if the monitor is 175 (or whatever) new... even if you drop it to 100 bucks... you still need to udnerstand that poeple arent gonna buy it. Yuo have to take this into account... why would someone spend 100 on an old viewsonic... when for 100 more they can buy a decent 19"? See... therefore 75 is more of a steal. Remember back when you wnated to sell your TI500 because you claimed it had more memory bandwidth than a TI4400? HAHAHAH OMG THAT WAS COMEDY! Nobody bought it... because why would they buy a 4 generation old card for THAT much money.... when they can pick up a TI4200 for a few extra bucks? Especially if the TI4200 would've eaten that dumb TI500 of yours, lol. Dude... people aren't dumb.... you should've already realized that.
LOL, now that is one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Nicely done.Quote:

Wow, this is such a pointless thread for an hardware addicts cause we are constantly buying new **** anyway. Like Colossus said, this stuff doesn't have much longer than a 6 month shelf life for most of us.
hmm I think I may try what normal people do and not get anything new for at least 2 years. Then I will actually notice a difference when I upgrade to a new mobo and cpu and ram. heh, maybe I'll install a scsi raid or something in the mean time instead of wasting more money on a new mobo.
Ok guys my turn check this out...
P4 2.8C....200
P4C800 DLX.150
LiteonCDrw.45
LiteonDVD..35
SonyFloppy.5
Radeon9800pro...300
Audigy SB2......50
400 wat antec PSU...50
Mouse Keyboard ...20
Speakers (5)(Altec Lansing + woofer)... 90
Dell 18.1 inch ultrasharp digital Flat panel Display 350
Eizo 17 inch CRT 150
Total is... 1445
Damn that isnt very much... MAN Depreciation.
Yea no doubt bought comp for 2 grand, and in 3 weeks prices have dropped bout 200 dollars, and I haven't been able to use because of Fed up hardware and long RMA times... still waiting .... this blows.
Just stay behind the curve, don't buy the fastest anything. Wait for it to be out for a little bit, and not top of the line. The comp I posted should play games pretty sweet for a while, then depending on whats new/worth it I could upgrade to a new generation Ati or nvidia thats not top of the line, and go for another 6 months. I usually try to keep my CPU updates to double the speed but thats becoming harder. Went from like a 15mhz or something to 200mhz, then to 500, then to 600, then to 1400, now to around 2300-2600. That means my next CPU upgrade will need to be 5.2 ghz. AMD better get on the ball.Quote:
