Captain, that the guideline I followed with Big Blue. I used Duplicolor, your right about the chipping. How many coats paint and wax?? I used 3 coats of paint and used Rubbing Compound and Wax on the panels but for the front I used 3-coats of clearcoat.. Looks Great don't ya love that shine... Here's a tip for the small nics and chips you get. Take the paint and spray it into a small bowl (Disposable), use a small paint brush while its still wet and touch up the spots. Try not to glob it on. They also sell the touchup bottles to match the same paint but hey I still had some in the can. Let it dry good and add wax or polish etc...Quote:

...and it came out really nice. the only gripe i have is that the paint i used (duplicolor automotive) seems to want to chip kinda easily, so i have to be somewhat careful with the panels of this case, it's definately not a LAN traveler, but it's really shiny :)
With all that CFM, I am surprised it doesn't blow your case over. LOL I have finally quieted down my tornado's with the fan controller. Good Job and thanks for posting them. BTW, did you vote yet??
TAZ, i used 2 coats of paint and 3 coats of clear on the sides and top, and for small part of the front bezel that is painted i used 2 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear. then i used rubbing compound on the top and panels to get the sanding marks out, and finished the whole thing off with a single coat of meguiars polish and then meguiars wax (steps 2 and 3 of their "deep crystal system")...i've still got some paint in a can around here too, so i'll have to do a little touchin up, thanks for the tip :)
Colossus, i had originally planned on doing just the case without the lights and mounting the fans on the metal panel, but this case came pre-modded with an 80mm hole where i didn't want ANY hole, and the handle on the panel was kinda in the way so i just decided to cut the whole thing out and mount the fans on a window.
Nice job, very very nice.
great job! very well done...w/ good attention to detail...a little too many fans for my taste...kinda obstructs airflow more than increases it.
very nice and professional job! how long do you think it took you (total) for just the paint job? and those blow holes look nice, but overall looks like a few too many fans...usually it is better to have a negative pressure inside the case (helps with cooling). you have four sucking in and how many blowing out? just curious. either way...looks good!
the paint looks so sweet, if only santa had your talent.
haha j/k santa (you still do a better job than i can do)
