If I am not mistaken the SuperPI was orignally posted by Saps :)
He got me into it.. And I revived a dead thread to see what newer procs can pull :)

BTW, I know this is a bit of an offshoot, but can we have a 'regular
guy' o/c'ing DB?? I really mention this to exclude LN2 cooled, but
this gets a bit tricky cuz where do you draw the line??
oh yeah, you reopened Saps' thread, now i remember. :) don't recall if there are bartons in there, we might need to reopen it again. :DQuote:

2.3GHz on my 2500+ at a 1.9Vcore because that's as high as my motherboard will let me go
My ears were burning :D
Yeah SuperPI I still love it. It really is just a one time use kind of thing but man does that test a cpu's OC stability. Even on the 1million test my cpu temp goes up right before my eyes
It is a good program to do a quick stability test... I overclocked a cpu so high that it wouldnt even complete SuperPI :D It wouldnt lockup but SuperPI would generate an error message about rounding I think or not accurate... Something like that...
What happened to the old avatar saps? :D
Yeah you know when you cannot pass a 40 second test the OC is shaky.
Regarding the avatar, I'm just supporting the five time champ. Looks like he's back on form too
Which superpi test should i run it on? 1M? or jsut see as high as it wil go?Quote:

Most people use 1million. The benchmark has no default per se but 1 million is the most commonly used figure
ok kool it ran jsut fine at 1 mil and stayed under 40C :) it even ran 2MIL :) i didnt try any higher.
Also 1 million doesnt take as long as 16 million :D
EDIT: How long did it take? I never noticed SuperPI to cause that much of a temp rise.. It never did for me :)
*L* it took 48s to get to 1 million. Well my normall running temp is 36 and it was goign back and forth between 37 and 38C while running it.Quote:

i just have to put my .02 in here to say: Lance Armstrong rulez! to go through what that guy did (cancer, 1 foot in the grave) and come back to win one of the most grueling competitions on earth FOUR TIMES in a row (and counting) is just absolutely mind-boggling. talk about modern day hero! all i can say again is, win or lose this time, that guy rulez!Quote:

</OT> :p
SuperPi #2, with prime running: still 45sec. :D
Hrm, out of curiousity, how high did your temps go guys? Mine's already at 41 C idle at 1.75 V...
About the same....40-42 idle, hi-40's load. I may rig some clothesQuote:

dryer flex tube from an a/c vent to my side intake just to check the
oft-stated (and I agree with it) opinion about how important ambient
temp is....I think this was done in the winter by someone (Saps??)
from the outside in.....oh, yeah, I'm running 1.85V.
