The Ti4200 is more like the pace car at the Indy 500. It's good for the first lap, but not the rest of the race. It's much better to run your games at 100% using half the power of the card than at 70% using all the card's power. BF1942 looks great with 4X AA right now, and Doom 3 will look great at 1024x768 without AA but running at 60 FPS. If you really like playing games, get at least a 9700 NP. They are worth the money.Quote:

Ah, I remember that day well. The BB advertised 15 cards in stock - sold the whole stock in about 5 mins. Too bad the store ACTUALLY had THREE in stock and tried to weasel out of the deal. When I complained to a Manager, I was told that I was lucky I even got a raincheck and that I should realize how things are on 'Black Friday'.Quote:

Yeah, like realize the store should maybe tell the truth??
Thats why I didnt bother with the hasle back then. I think I bought a ti500 for $80 2 months after black friday then I upgraded my old 504MHz celeron rig. Its not worth waiting hours in line only to get nothing or maybe if you are lucky a pack of cd roms for free after rebate. I knew I could get those on ebay in a couple months for that cheap and 4 or 5 months ago I got a 128mb ti4200 for $100 on ebay :)
Black Friday was in November (9 months ago) and we got it for $85, $15 less than what you payed for.Quote:
