all the years behind I allways wanted a cheap home workstation PC
I dont really need the PCI-X slots I allways hoped for the release of a budget dual processor ATX motherboard I need it only for dual processing not server or PCI-X or SCSI etc..
I use 3dmax, photoshop and movie editing software...
and I needed it to be a small PC in ATX not huge EATX...
I kept asking my self why arent they doing it??? I cant afford a 4000$ workstation with useless PCI-X expensive scsi controller and harddisk etc why ignoring this part of the market.. now it is here first tyan offered the ATX low duali and now ASUS follows which is good
I also play games and this is an all in one solution and now that it is dual 333DDRAM and 533cpu it is not that difference really...
and believe me dont consider that 10% more speed in games (800MHZ vs 533MHZ) a big winner dual cpu machine will make u forget it forever
it is a cool experience when u use one u ll stick with it
in the past dualis were really slow in games etc had no AGP slots and only 100MHZ fsb and no cool options like SATA Fire wire or USB2 or 5.1 sound etc now it is here and this is cool
and believe me since the HT is now a STANARD in P4 the software houses will follow supporting it that time all the applications will use the "real" dual processor since they ll be ready for HT and HT is a logical dual processor use .. so expect all the software from office to games to every thng to support dualis by default... that time not only 3dmax or movie editing will support it but all
u ll see the difference by then
also, I think dualis will replace singles in the near future and they r shifing too it the HT is the beginning to make software support it then all will support dualis by default even games
and finally... dont judge dualis if u never touched one of them they r cool.. if u cant afford dual 3G go dual 2.4 or dual 2.6 the duali experience is somthing else...
and at last it is coming to home users
the system divides the work between the cpus so u ll never experience the shattery performance when u run more and more applications at the same time..
anyway
and plz try it b4 u judge it... and now that the raptor SATA is here it is cheaper and cheaper
for a gaming machine it is cool too but not at the top but who cares? a minus 10% vs experience of duali???
