Nice, nice! I see you got the black one, hope it goes well with your case. :D If not, don't buy the conversion kits; go buy some sheet aluminum or steel and drill holes and mount it. :DQuote:

Also, make sure it's got good contact with the core - when I mounted mine, I didn't check, and it turned out it wasn't even touching! So tighten those screws! (and then unscrew and check for contact :)).
DON'T buy the alu-kit? Why not? I was planning to get one in black to match my Lian-Li!
Because it's overpriced and you can get the same (or possibly nicer) result by buying some sheet metal and doing it yourself. :)Quote:

Is it safe to turn it on or something to make sure it's not DOA... Hold on. I need to go dance around my apartment some more.
And MAN! You're right. That hose doesn't budge.
Yes, you can turn it on without it being mounted to anything. However, you have to have it connected to your PC's power supply (there should be a 2-wire molex coming out of the hole on top). Then either turn on your computer or disconnect your ATX power (and preferably everything else, like HD's and stuff, so they don't run without the motherboard being on). Once the ATX power thing is disconnected (it's the big massive white connector with a clip), short it out (pins 14-15, see diagram in Prometeia manual) with a paper clip and your Prometeia will turn on.Quote:

If you have any questions when setting it up, don't hesitate to ask me - better safe than sorry!
There's a piece of paper here that says, "Under no circumstance should you remove the side panels."
Buuuuut...
When I was trying to pry the thing from the box I think I may have popped the display inward a little bit... I was thinking I'd need to remove the panel and pop it back in.
The display is pretty frustrating, yeah - it's pretty strangely mounted. Anyway, that warning is pure BS. I'm guessing they'll check whether you opened it if you ever have a problem and you send it in for warranty, but actually opening it won't do anything. I've done it COUNTLESS times, I've even run the thing with the side off (despite their doomsday warning about a horrible electric shock, etc).Quote:

ROFL! I READ THAT! Alright.
I'm glad you're here Duck-- lol. :D
Thanks - I'm glad you're here too (with a slightly inferior video card, as to not be TOO threatening to me :D). :pQuote:

Remember, better safe than sorry! Ask if you are not 100% sure!
Btw, did you get anything that looks like a sponge in your CPU kit?
This is what came with the CPU kit:

(Hope you're at a high res ;))
How do you remove the side panels? I've removed the four screws around the side-- Do I just need to pull it really hard? lol
Alright, CPU kit looks good. There is a "sponge" thing missing (was missing from mine too) that's supposed to go on the back of the motherboard to take up space and lower the risk of condensation. I didn't get it from the guy who sent me the Prometeia, so I just wanted to know if he got it or if he was just lying to me. Since it's not there, the sponge thing is probably not necessary. If you want to be super safe, though, it might be a good idea to cut up and stuff a sponge in there. (into the little rectangle with the coils).Quote:

The side panels have big long white doublesided stickers to make it a hell of a time to take it off. Just pull from one side. I had a hell of a time getting them off, but after the first time it came off without a hitch (be warned, though, that you are probably setting yourself up for some warranty issues later, since this will tell them that you have opened the case).
How are you suppose to put on the alu-kit then without voiding the warrenty? Stupid guys.
You can't. :pQuote:

But actually if you bought an aluminum kit, it would be a good excuse as to why you took the panels off (they'd probably make an exception then).
Hey, btw, is the Tygon on the way? How long do you think it'll take?
