Looks impressive, but I'm holding off upgrading for some time. The 9700 and the 8500 for that matter are still going strong and untill I find something that fails to run on either computer, it seems that I'll be good.
abuse of smilies in general dont ya think?Quote:

Heh I dont even know if youd break 21k with that, id save up for a faster cpu, perhaps the a64 a couple years from now
"Duh ,...i wonder how much they can push the next .13 if they run this card in .15 @ 450 mhz core"
550MHz perhaps, I believe they maxed out .15 I wonder how little oc they would have.
"Would you really want to do that? I guess you can just flash back to 9900, but I'd be really hesitant to try that stuff on a $$$$$$$$ card...."
not me, but some rich guy might try it though. Cheating I know. I wonder how many of the super high ti4200 scores are really ti4600s with the ti4200 bios. Is it really possible to get a ti4200 to 350/750 or higher?
"hopefully I'll be able to nab one of em for review purposes"
If you do, make sure to run 3dmark on it, also underclock it to stock 9800 speeds and compare, see if there really are core optimizations
"Crapping in their pants I presume"
I heard the nv38 may be 500/1000 and if they fix the weak parts of the core and with all the ram bandwith, they will regain the title.
"naaa, they probly have the real optimized driver just waiting to release it the day of the 9900pro launch. And if they do, I'll be pissed for making me use a less than par driver all this time."
no not again :( we all know about their "honest" drivers by now

Might just be enough to nibble the V man's rig, that is if you get a good oc on it. your 9800 oced well, I wonder how the 9900s overclock :) well you could sell the 9800 for $350 since it overclocks so well, spend $450 for a 9900.
If the 9900PRO runs galaxies like a champ... then I'm all over it! You guys live for 3dmark... I live for this game! :D
I live for games!!! But I love to tweak and benchmark too :)
I am already at 21.6k with the IC7-G so this card would be an interesting addition if I get it :D

I actually use both FYI. The only thing is that my AMD rig is located inside my bedroom... therefore I can play the game all night. If my P4 were in my room, you can bet I'd be on that one all night ;).
Oh, PLEASE, you're an upgrade whore and you know it. :D My money's on you to be one of the first Sharks to have it.Quote:

As for me - I'm rubbing my hands vehemently in anticipation! :D ;) Man I love this warranty!!
It's possible I might spring for one...depends how good they turn out to be after some benches get shown for them and price $$$.
I've got a 8500 I need to replace soon after upgrading processor and motherboard first...I'd rather have an r400 though.
I use a 9500 pro in my main system now(shuttle nforce2 mini-box) and it works really well...so well I can probably really put off another video card upgrade for quite awhile now as every game I play now gets good fps. Funny thing is that my 9500 pro only cost me $160...my first 8500 was around $300 so it pays to be behind a curve a bit in buying a new video card. I got good use out of my 8500's(I still do) but the 9500 was definatly a better deal.
I had to buy the 8500's at full price simply because I needed video card for a new system and had NONE I could even limp along with...now that I have a few video cards I can make stuff last and wait on the bargins now. I've also got 3 systems to keep running now...only 2 of them need to be fast and only 1 really needs the bleeding edge stuff to game on.
I think I'll wait on my next purchase also....drivers will get better and prices lower by the time I buy it.
I hope the system in your sig isn't your "bleeding edge" gaming sytem?Quote:
