so what is wrong with this motherboard? Is there anything I can do besides another mobo which I dont want? If 190fsb is my max, no point in pc3200 ram, ill probably sell that and either use my pc2100 or buy a 512mb of pc2700 and run it 166-180fsb for everyday use
There is nothing wrong with value RAM... Many times, it uses the same chips as the "faster" variant... And in some (rare) cases, better chips. :pQuote:

Or atleast if you are going to be getting cheaper stuff, go with Buffalo Tech... In some of there sticks, they use the same ram as Corsair :)
Macci uses Kingston PC3000 ValueRAM, and it does 2-2-2-5@270mhz(@3.6v :)). :eek: Don't know it 'till you've tried it.

Hello.. The Value Ram is rated at 2.5CL.. So yes there is something wrong and no its not the same chip.. That is why Macci can get such a high FSB and ratio.. Plus the 3.6v does help!!!!Quote:

Have you thought to ask the previous owner what componets he/she was running for the 210? Maybe, just maybe, he took you for a ride at purchase time.
Yes, components fail once and awhile, doesn't matter what you buy, this is in reference to your adamant refusal to get an NForce board.
If you take this whole adventure of yours, the time, the agony and whatever, and review it, you would have been far better off to just purchase an Nforce board and be done with it.
Gawd, the accrued shipping costs for all the stuffs you purchased in the last six months plus the listing fees at Ebay prolly add up to a new NF7-S board. Interesting.
I have hit walls before, and when it happens, I move on immediately, especially if I want the 'more' I am seeking. This reminds me of the guy who walks up to another person who is banging their head against the wall repeatedly, he asks the guy why he is doing this to himself, and the person responds with 'because it feels so good when I STOP".
Anyway, good luck, you have improved your rig admirably from what it was, now I guess you will just live with what you got.

exactly. at this point, maybe its not the ram but something else preventing me getting past 190fsb :(

220fsb isnt guaranteed even on an nf2......I am too lazy right now to point out all the users unable to get much past 200. also let me point out this is your 5th nf7 mobo, your others DIED! I dont have money to keep replacing each nf2 that quits on me even if I can get 15k easy, I am not made of money!

you have an 8rda+ and running 198fsb? what gives man? ram cant run 200fsb? Get real ram and your chances of 230+ fsb are good. also be careful, nf7 mobos die alot on you :(

XMS is by far much better then Value Ram unless you can push 3.6v through it :D
My 8RDA+ is a revision 1.0, not real easy to get past 200 FSB with stock cooling (can be done though). I killed another 8RDA when I tried to replace the NB cooler and it didn't make good contact (stupid).Quote:

My RAM can handle it, don't worry. I actually pay attention to what experienced people say about hardware. As if I'd take advice from a T-bird anyway.
