I've tried DPL II, its pretty good- not perfect. Much better than cmss in my opinion. I find it a b1tch to open powerdvd to use it however.
Also I like your yoda pick :D good stuff hehehe
i do notice it a bit. but i just up the bass a little bit manually.Quote:

Edit: Yup. I didn't notice it until the actual bass guitar kicked in in "Step Lively - String Beans"
Same with plenty of other songs.
I suppose that would work.Quote:

I get the impression (no real testing done) that it's actually losing some extension, rather than a hit in the gain of the bass. Raising the gain will just boost the frequencies it's really allowing to pass through yet, if this is the case.
i dont think it's losing anything. i think it sounds a bit more upmixed, with less gain. i played a few songs with CCMS and CCMS not enabled, and i think I actually hear a bit more in the sound. i don't think it's losing any extensions. i might be wrong, but that's what my ears are telling me. more to with further investigation.
did i do something wrong with my setup?? for me the difference between ccms vs ccms2 is like using an old school boombox vs movie theater quality. as far as shooting more power to the front, i adjusted the slider so that the rear is ever so slightly louder than my front. (-8 IIRC). by default the slider is 100% front. you must adjust this to the quality where you want it (assumming you have a 4.1-5.1 speaker set.) i cannot think of situation where ccms2 will sound better than ccms whether its classical music, gaming, dvd watching, etc.
your ost is conflicting. do you like ccms2 more or ccms1? to me and crawling eye, ccms2 makes our music sound garbled, and poorly upmixed. i think ccms2 is intended for dvds and games, not music.Quote:

I think he likes CMSS1. I agree with you PinchyCM about CMSS2. I don't like it.Quote:

score.
i don't use ccms1 at all, and ccms2 sounds almost the same as having the music just played through all your speakers normally.
You guys are right, CMSS1 takes away some of your bass. More reason, for me not to use either. Always used plain stereo anyway.:D
PS. I also think some of the difference of opinion between CMSS1 & 2 are due to people using different drivers. Creative tweaked CMSS in the driver releases. I'm using the latest 0.383 drivers on my A2.
I agree with that, Soup. No CMSS is the clearest and cleanest way for music. However, if I have a lot of friends over or even my girlfriend and her friends, I'll put on CMSS 2 to get some extra volume and excitement out of the sound, while they dance around.
Lol. True dat.:D
I can just picture it. "Crank up those PC speakers and let's rock!":)
i just like making use of all 5 speakers. i feel better about dropping 400+ on them.
