The answer is yes on the DL question.
Just change the default disc size setting from 4.3GB to 8.5GB.
hmm, thought that the size was 9.4gb wheres the extra size go?
DVD-9 (12 cm, SS/DL) = 7.95 gig (8.54 BB), about 4 hours.Quote:

DVD Capacity.
OHHHHHHHH. gotcha. i was prolly looking at double sided my bad
Give DVD Shrink a try if you haven't yet, its my DVD burning software of choice and I have tried about all of them.
^^^ Same here. I'm LOVING DvD Shrink. With other programs I kept getting the "This is a CSS Encrypted DvD" message. With DvD Shrink I have come across ANY DvD I can't copy.
Oh, and for the nay-sayers on the legality of copying DvDs, consider this: It's awesome for me since I go on the road quite a bit and damned if I'm taking my originals with me... between lost baggage at airports and thefts, my movie collection is a LOT of money to risk losing. Not to mention just handling DvDs what with scratches, dropping the damn things ect... I have the right to protect my entertainment investment. Ok, off the soapbox I go.
Get DvD Shrink... it kicks major ***.
so with this setup can you control what goes on your disc and what doesnt? that what i like about shrink is you can pick what audio streams you want and now pretty much delete video files. most other apps ive seen "decide" for you. how does this setup work?Quote:

2, i have some copies made with xcpopy that won't play on certain players (for some reason)
and 3, it's a PITA to install with all those steps you have to go thru....
if you want to try something simple with a great interface & good video quality, try clonedvd2 with anydvd running in the system tray. as long as anydvd is running, clonedvd2 will do everything for you. you'll see what I mean once you try it. I think there's trial versions of each, or.....if you know where to look ;)
you can control everything, you even get a little quality bar that shows how much compression you will have and how it effects the final quality of your video.Quote:

give it try
will do. thanks mate. :D
IMHO another nice program is DVD2one. I have to agree that DVD X Copy is a poor choice, having used it for some time before dumping it for several freeware/cheapware choices. Lots of good info at www.afterdawn.com on DVD burning.
ive been usin dvd shrink for a bit now. lovin it. great lil proggy.
Where can I get this prog?????Quote:

Now has built in DL support (DVD-9 pulldown menu).
Also has included a new "Quality Settings" tab to further improve picture quality when compression is required.
Various other additions as well, but those where the main 2 that caught my eye.
Go check it out :D
Never mind I see the shortcut.:o
well i decided that i like clonedvd2 better, you have more options of what tracks to burn and what to leave off. just IMO
I am totally new to DVD burning. Can you explain a little further?Quote:
