A. I don't shop at Scabmart
B. For $100 more (with rebates) you can get a real machine from companies that have a track record and something you can configure (sometimes).
BTW, Office Depot has a HP with $300 in rebates now untill Sat 9/4 for as low as $600 (plus shipping)!

Yeah i'd buy it.
I have a refurb 500Mhz PIII that I got for about that price, and you can't find a laptop much cheaper.
I use my laptop for connecting to the TV to view movies etc. This would be a perfect replacement and MUCH more powerful than my current one.
Specs:
a 14.1-inch display, an AMD Athlon XP 1600+ processor, 128MB of RAM, a 40GB hard drive, a DVD-drive, Wi-Fi 802.11b and Microsoft's Windows XP Home Edition
That ain't bad, its got built in wifi which is nice. The 1600+ isn't shabby, the 40GB hard drive is actually quite spacious for a laptop, a DVD drive is great (perfect as a portable DVD player).
The 128MB of RAM is a downer, i'd hope it'd be expandable, putting another 128MB stick (a mere $20 investment) would bring it to a respectable 256MB
