Save yourself some problems and forget it. Sell in states and wait till the BANK check or POSTAL money order clears. Your bank will tell you when it clears.

I often wondered, well not often barely ever but, how this ebay thing works. I would think that ebay is just a middle man hooking scammer and scamee and taking a cut.
There must be lots of scams if thats the way this works. I trouble giving my money to a pwn shop even though I can see the thing right right in front of me.
scams originating from nigeria are huge, because of the current state of the law there.
Sound advice:
Good rule of thumb is anything involving a transfer of goods/money and the word "Nigeria" is a scam. Steer clear.
Scamming the scammer is only fun when done to the degree of the P-P-P-Powerbook. The rest pale in comparison and aren't worth the time or energy IMO.
I like the idea of scamming the scammer, but odds are they won't paypal you anything. Once they have to shell out cash for it, they'll drop off the face of the earth. Your check will come up a fraud and you'll have to pay bank fees because of the bad cheque.
The scammer only loses postage from mailing the bad cheque, you lose a lot more money.
UPDATE:
I just got two emails from the scammer the first one is here:
this is the first one:
http://www.geniv.com/ebay/scammer1.gif
it's a screenshot from outlook.
notice a few thing about it:
1- The email is suppose to be from western union but if u look at the address its: [email protected]
and the site leads to a job seekersite that gives out free email...
2- Here's a sure sign it's a scam
"N.B
NOTE THAT THE MONEY ORDER WILL NOT GET TO YOUR RESIDENT UNTIL THE SHIPMENT TRACKING NUMBER IS SENT TO US FOR SHIPMENT VERIFICATION."
here's the second one:

Hello John,
I've just been informed by my Personal assistant Mr.Hans Urhausen who handled the payment on my behalf that your payment has been approved. Please remember to send the item to her as a gift via fedex so she can get it on time and send me the tracking number so I can tell her to expect it soonest.
Nice transacting with you. Hope to read from you soon.

I'm gonna email this ash-hole back saying I'm bring it the fedex center tomorrow. hehe.
and later give him the paypal line..
Hope you people are enjoying this little episode so far.
rofl ...
if you make some extra dough in the process, double kudos to you :)
I had someone try to scam me outside of Ebay. He constantly e-mailed so I blocked his e-mail and reported him to Ebay. I just don't think it's worth it to put that much effort to get him back just think of what you could be doing that time.

heres my last response to the scammer:
-=========================
Hi, Lola.
Sorry for the delay. I was at the fedex office today. And the actual shipping is $45 more than I expected after they weighted the package. When I called fedex the other day, $90 was the estimate they gave me.
I'm sorry as I told you the shipping was only $90. It's my fault. I'm willing to pay most of the extra shipping charges as it is my error. I'll put the extra $25 out of my own pocket, if you're willing to pay an extra $20 for the shipping.
If you can please PayPal.com me the $20 balance. Just the other day I won an ebay auction on a handmade dog collar for my pooch. (It's really cute). Want to pay the guy for the collar as soon as I can but my papal account is empty and I don't want it to take money out of my credit card.
Possibily can you have your associate paypal me the $20 so I can purchase the dog collar and have your package shipped out tomorrow?
You can paypal me at: [email protected]
Hope to hear from you soon. As I'm eager to pay for the collar and have your package shipped out (It is at my office right now and only 2 blocks from the fedex office, and I really don't want to leave it there)
Btw: here's a picture of her right next to your box (I happen to take the picture a few days ago to show my sister.)

actuall i didn't spend that much time on this scammer. and I realize that the few emails I sent I'm gonna save it and do the same to any other scammers that email me.
is that your real dog?
