A cousin of mine was really deep into Magic: The gathering. He had something like 2-3 2 inch binders filled with cards. AFter a few years, he sold them all off and used the procedds to buy a guitar, amp and computer. I think he got 2-3 grand for the cards. It looked liked he had a lot of rares.

I'm not sure why PA is so damn popular, i like it and all, but now they have their own card game? Damn. I guess a lot of gamers like comics and get the best of both worlds from PA. The PA guys are also very smart and likeable, so i guess that helps.

Only card games i've ever played are the casino related ones. I might be interested in a card game like this (non-collectible type), though it would raise my nerd level a point or two. I'm trying to keep it on the down low as much as I can lately.

Hence my problem trying to find people to play munchkin know that I'm out of school....grrrrrr

I think a key to their popularity versus older comic artists is that they're not just some disembodied name attached to a strip, they actually have the message posts every day and you get to know them. PA isn't just something you read, necessarily, but something you belong to, in a way.

Of course, that just pretty much puts them equal to almost any other webcomic, so past that, I'm not sure why they're so popular. I mean, I think a lot of their strips are insanely hilarious, but probably just as many not only don't seem to have a funny punchline, they seem to not have a punchline at all.

Thats why I passed on my cards to my younger brother. :D

He came back from school one day holding Wrestling Cards, so I wrestled it out of his hands and stuffed some real class into them. :cool: I don't see the point in paying money for a bunch of printed-on-paper photos of big sweaty men cussing and cringing while in a hold.

I have some really old magic the gathering cards from when it first came out. They have been in storage up in my room. Might have to try to sell them off and make some moneys :)
