I came across this thread today when looking for others having trouble with Biostar boards. I have a brand new P4M80-M4 and was getting the same types of errors.
My solution was so simple I can't believe I spent half a day on this. Just as i was about to try a different hard drive. I checked the jumper setting... it was set to master and sure enough so was the current drive. I reset the current drive to CS and everything is right with world.
