Physical copies can burn you.

I bought the BattleField 2 Booster pack at Fry's for $20, brand new - legit all the way.

Never been able to play it. Won't activate - EA acknowledges that the code is legit, and is delighted that they ripped me off, advising that I go phk myself if I want to play, or I can buy on-line.

EA are crooks, but having a physical copy didn't stop them from stealing from me.

I keep hoping to stir up interest in a class action lawsuit against the bastards.

I'd take that one up with the BBB - for both EA and Fry's (if they wouldn't allow a return).

Never was a fan of Steam, still aint. Its only going to get worse when you try to streamline every product through the internet. Next will be those pay per movies sites.
