Best solo class for EQ2

I have a blast with EQ2 until about lvl 20, then it falls off. 1-20 is a lot of fun though.

All this talk of EQ2 is really making me want to renew my subscription. I miss the old EQ days. I'd really like to see how they remade the old zones. I had many great memories in Kunark... Karnor's Castle, Dreadlands, Old Seb, City of Mist, etc etc etc.

Yeah that was one of the reasons that I was pulled back in. Kunark was one of the best expansions to any game I have ever played.

When was that? There is fun stuff to do at 20, Nec Forest hasn’t been fun since they took all the heroics out and Thundering steppes is a little sparse, but once you get away from the docs Butcherblock is fun and mid 30’s – mid 40’s in Steamfont is very very good.

50-60 is kind of weak, there is some great lore but it’s buried in long group quests not many people do anymore. 70-80 is a lot more solo oriented and weak on the group content side, which starts to drag after a while as well, but otherwise there in plenty of fun stuff to do the whole way.

Maybe it was because I never really saw anyone out in the wild. 1-20 there were people running around in the cities but after that I didn't see many people. This was when Echoes of Fadwyar came out.

There will be a lull in quest quality at ~20, but it picks up again in the mid 20’s in Butcherblock. There is another lull in quality around level 30, but the quantity of quests near the docks in Zec and Enchanted Lands makes up for that somewhat. At ~35 move to Steamfont, the quests there are outstanding. Just a caution, they re-scaled quest rewards in this expansion so the quest reward items outside of Kunark are not as good as what

Nobody has mentioned this, which I think is quite odd, but in my experience I have discovered that hands down the wizard is the best soloer. My wizard is the only one that I have gotten past 60 and I have played all the other classes suggested. BTW Kunark is an incredibly easy zone, and you WILL NOT FIND ANYTHING THAT CAN KILL YOU, unless you make a mistake and pull about 10 mobs or pull out of your level range. It also has the best loot/jewelry for low lvls, most of it is still good into the 30s maybe even 40s. Also around the 50s lvl it really starts to bog down, zero groups to go with (if you want one) and not very good zones for xp.

Since I posted my last comments I restarted playing after Kunark came out. They've made a lot of changes to address the issues I had.

I'm playing a Brigand and Inquistor. Brigand is downright badass :D

I can't believe you guys would waste time playing EQ2.

lol, from the guy who has something like 8000 hours played in EQ2 :D

Only a hair over 6k hours. Not this week though, this week I'm at 78 hours in AoC and only 7 in EQ2 =/

A lot of it hinges on my guild tbh. If they decide to move over I will. I played a lot of Vanguard too and it was horrid trash. After 4 years and 6k hours in EQ2 I tend to latch on to the "new" just to escape my massive boredom with EQ2.

However I will say AoC so far is >>>>>>>>>> than Vanguard and the endgame looks to be awesome for a launch MMO endgame.
