For clarity: This is a requisite update file; an update to your system you need to get before SP1 can be installed when released.

I know this is silly, but I slipstream updates into my Vista x64 disk once every other month. New Intel, nVidia, and Creative drivers, along with all the patches, etc.
I was really hoping the beginning of next month would allow me to slipstream in SP1 along with the round of driver updates.

You can't find it now becoz MS has suspended the update for now, there were reports of endless loops and crashes due to this update so MS had no choice but to do it. As a point of fact, the update to SP1 itself was not the issue, rather, it was a pre-requisite download before SP1 that causes the issue.....that's what I'd heard anywayz.Quote:

And yes, I am now using vLite. Originally I slipstreamed my own files. Now it's just a pain. The trick to vLite is not to get too ambitious at once. For example, I integrate patches, then test the disc. Then I will integrate drivers, then test the disc. Then I will tweak features, then test the disc, etc.

Anyone know when Microsoft will put the Vista SP1 back on Windows Update? I just installed Vista Ultimate over the weekend and would really like to see if SP1 speeds things up a bit. A friend of mine gave me a copy of SP1 he got off the msdn website, but I'm not sure if it's a RC or the final RTM version. The filename is Windows6.0-KB936330-X86.exe. I have already run all the updates from WU so I'm wondering if this SP1 he gave me is safe.
