I have no idea how you managed to do that, I would say I did 80% of the quests and 100% of world exploration but I came in at like 48 hours.

On the first playthrough use the soldier, just so you can get the feel of the game. After that use the other classes (any of them).
edit: took me 28 hours to finish. Half of that was romping around on that retarted mako...okay maybe 1/3. And for me that is plenty of time for a game. I couldn't take it much longer. I am NOT and RPG player so this was perfect for me. In any other RPG I lose interest. (Oblivion, Fallout 3, Morrowind).
I'm sticking with my Vanguard. I've moved the story along and I'm at the Citadel running around getting the back story. and my first observation ELEVATORS SUCK. *** were they thinking? I'm getting intel on some guy in a bar and that's were I stopped. The game better start picking up the pace, please tell me it does.
I'm playing the PC version. Well I will stick it out then. Glad I'm not the only one who's not enjoying the citadel part. It actually kind of reminds me of the beginning of KOTOR. The cities are similar IMO.
Amen to that. I'm on my second play through to get more achievement unlocks (which is only for my benefit, because the steam version of the game doesn't have steam achievements, nor does it tie into Live.) Not entirely looking forward to another 40+ hours, but at the same time I am. :)
i was an infiltrator. it was good w/ tech and i love sniping :D for close combat, the pistol was actually pretty amazing if you pump points into it. i liked it better than the shotgun and auto.
i pretty much used wrex and the turian through the whole game. their throw and warp abilities were really handy. it wasnt too difficult on normal. i thought my team was pretty well balanced.
btw, when you're on a planet, try to take out what you can w/ a rifle or something because you get more xp than if you just run over people. although it's more fun to do that -__-
btw fastitocalon, that is a freaking awesome avatar. i can't stop laughing!!!
The story does pick up. I was like you at, the beginning was so slow that I put it way for a few months and then picked it back up, got out of the citadel and thats when the story really starts. It will pull you in eventually.
I have yet to play the game as a soldier. The ability list seems so boring.
I played as an Infiltrator(50, then 60 on a second playthrough), a Vanguard (54) and an Engineer (57). I favor the infiltrator (tech + snipe is very fun), but the Engineer was the most powerful, Neural Shock and AI Hacking are awesome tools to control the field (I can only imagine what an Engineer can do with Stasis on top), add in Sabotage, Overload and Damping and it's hell for the poor guys in front of you.
I was used to have to snipe the Geth Colossus, my engineer could take them pointblank.
Overall I find that weapons types are pretty much irrelevant. The specter weapons are so powerful that a Specter pistol with Cooling upgrades, Barrel upgrades and either Shredder/Tungsten rounds is all you need to end all fights smoothly whoever your teammates are.
My four playthroughs took me about 48 hours each. I missed a couple of assignments the first time but did everything with the three others.
