When I was doing CFX with 2x HD5870 followed by 2x HD6870, I did not experience any major issue, certainly no BSOD (IIRC). With my HD6950, Cat 12.1a plays pretty nicely though the special driver for the HD7970 isn't performing to my expectation, no crashes or BSOD, just expected games to run much faster.....still, I guess it's a beta driver for the new card so I can expect more well optimized driver revisions from AMD soon. Now running my card at 1125/1550 w/o a hint of issue.....these new cards OC like mad I tell ya!
Nice! Although I think you need to update your sig, I don't think that Corsair WC block is a TT V10 ;) Was that one of those boxed kits they sell? How do you like it? Thinking of getting one for my rig, they're not that expensive.
In newer games, there may be some degree of micro-stuttering, like when GoW was first launch, playing EF mode I did experience some micro-stutter, but it became less noticeable after a driver revision or two. Perhaps I've gotten so used to micro-stutter, I don't really notice anymore......I'm sure there's micro-stutter in some games, I just do not see it anymore.:o
Kepler for life!
LOL! Was woondering when you were gonna show up here.:D
I've maxed out OC using CCC at 1125/1575 and this card's asking for more, will let my card settle down before trying MSI Afterburner...at ths speed, I can run BF3 at near max setting (Ultra but no MSAA, post AA at High, 16x AF + HBAO) @6048x1200. Pretty smooth gameplay with FR between ~30fps to >50fps.
BTW, the HD7950's expected to be launched on the 31st of January, it should be a hard launch, but at $449. Performancewise, it should edge out the GTX580....

I'd hope it'd edge out the 580, you know how old the 580 is?
Very old, time for the green team to show us some new cards.
You guys should thank your lucky stars that you can get 'em off newegg at that price. In my neck of the woods, a HD7970 cost between 650USD to 680USD......that's what I'd paid for my Sapphire HD7970, 680USD.
Hey mike, I've heard new drivers up the performance a ton. Check it out here and report back to us:

That's sweet dude. I've finally got a permanent full time job again, so I'm hoping to rebuild my system soon, but I'll be starting from scratch. My old Core 2 Quad is still doing OK at 3.3Ghz, but I'd like to build something more modern.
