I scanned that article earlier and failed to see anything in the least bit worrying!
Could you please point out exactly what the hell I should be worried about?
And my last post, I wasn't implying anything, that was from Microsofts official FAQ on the matter, just thought you might like to see it, i wondered how much truth there was in it.

The only thing about WPA that scares me is that it means I would have to PAY for MS products; Not cool!
I bet university cds will still be free of such things. So I guess it's not really a problem.
Still, I don't like where WinXP is going... It seems like WinME:Win98SE::WinXP:WinME

The only part that would concern me is that I do reinstall/ change out my parts alot. I do try out new MB's (or have bad lucky with MB's) and according to M$ that will require I reactivate
Having worked in support I do know that a 2-3 min hold time is a fantasy. What happens when the support centers computers go down? Imagine if the MS Msg'r servers had been their activation servers? Having to wait 5 days to re-activate your box.

Imagine how fun this is going to be for your IT dept. Having to track codes for machines (if they lock the cd's as reported- if the cd's are unlocked then the residential activation will be a joke), each copy will have a unique pw. "Hmmm, I wonder what disk we used to activate this box." "Damn, Steve's box in billing is popping up that activation screen again. Steve SWEARS he hasn't done a thing to it either..."

I think I may just upgrade to Win 2k heh and when the next win XP?ME? Whatever comes out then ill play with XP...but think about what in XP do you REALLY need? that you cant DL as a seperate add on to 2k, the new interface? so what...So ignore the whole activation scandle and stay away from XP
