But I think the Lian Li PC60 or PC70 are great looking cases that you dont need to mod.

Actually, to be honest, and I know someone will flame me for it, but the AMK PC60-3344 is the best mid tower availible.

It is exactly like the Lian-Li PC60, but it has a blowhole, and two 120mms on the side. You would never need/want to mod.

When you see the exterior color you will understand why I chose maroon. They blend so perfectly.
Now why are you bringing up a different case. If you want to mod that is great, there are tons of other things to consider.
Modding is just not adding blowholes, it is taking a case, wether it be midtower or full atx and putting you into it. in otherwords when done there will be no other one like it in the world, unless there is a copy cat. I have seen extreme cooling in cases and because they try to cram or dont mod their case properly make it look like hell. Modding is a design art, it is one thing to mod for a few blowholes for cooling, and another thing to do extreme cooling and mod out a case to the extreme, not just for the cooling but also for the design and art. I put myself into it, The hours I spent designing this thing would blow your mind. One more time because you need to understand, modding is not cuting a blow hole for overclocking, it is putting who you are into it and making a one of a kind item. I am sure those are great cases, but I guarentee they would have never been suitable for what I am doing, let alone big enough, This is a show piece as well as a performance piece.

They call us hobyists for the overclocking, it is not so much an art. Art is bringing your imagination and say some material like metal and creating something that makes a statement to other people either about yourself or the surroundings. You could clasify case modding like I am doing as a hobby yes but it is also a part of me and was not ment just for overclocking purposes. When you overclock you are taking something and just making it more powerful, you are using your imagination if you design a cooling system but the peramiters of the cooling is a given, if you do this, you get that, this is not art. Now, if you design a cooling system that works great but also design it for show say like having a clear resovour, now you are getting into more art form as well. A hobby is doing something that you dont really have to do but it is fun so you do it and most of the time after all is said and done you are the only one that reeps the benifits. Art is something that you feel a need to do, you have to do no matter what the reason, and after all is said and done you will not be the only one enjoying it after, visually people will stare at my finished computer, look at it wonder why or how I did something. Get sort of a wondering pleasure from it, where as overclocking, ya its 800MHz O/C to 1020MHz, thats marvoulos but most people wont think again about that 5 second encounter as with most hobbyies, where as mine people will think about it later, if my comp can stick in other peoples minds long after they see it then my project was a success.

I am also planning to build me a wooden case. I would do it out of aluminum, but I dont know jack about metal work. I have a good friend how is a master craftsman in wood work, so I have a great wood shop I can use.

Everything is going to be tec cooled, There will be a squirl cage fan on the ram, but 96CFM of air through the case should be plenty. Do you feel different?? I am hoping I wont even have to run them that fast.

I honestly dont know. I'm working on my first serious case mod attempt atm, but i hear all the people hear with like 10fans say adding another improved temps.

I can honestly tell you that there is a point where air cooling just stops improving. If any of you remember, I bought a huge fan that moved 235cfm. I hooked it up, and it did drop the temp 2c. I then added two more 120mm, a 92mm, and a 80mm, and I dropped 1c. I then threw in all my extra fans, and a second PS for fun, 5 more, and I didnt drop anything. After a while, there is nothing more you can do. I dropped 3 degrees, and put in at least 300 more cfm. My case was shaking, and that is not a lie. I have removed most of the fans again, but what colt has should do. My next cooling project will involve 6 low speed 120mm fans. I am going for something more quiet, but as cool.

Remember, most people with all those fans need to get air everywhere to cool and draw fresh air in, nothing needs air cooling in mine except the ram on voodoo and the main ram, and they require little, I am hopping that my tec water cooling design will keep this puppy pretty darn quit and only have to run these fans at half speed. I have two more 120mm fans but you will see where they go in part 4 though I will say this, they are not actually moving air in the comp. and the are 12 volt and only moving 36CFm and are so damn quit.

A sguirel cage fan is a fan that intakes fron the side and exhaust ou a small opening, similiar to those card cooling fans that go in a pci slot.

Yes allot of times to much can be a bad thing too. Sounds like you created allot of turbulance inside your case, if the fans are not placed properly you will end up having them fight each other.

I had carefully placed them, and all the airflow matched so that is moved perfectly, I had just found that it didnt help anymore. I spent hours testing out fan placement, and calculated the cfm so the intake would be equal enough to match the outake. I did see improvement like I mentioned, but after a point, you cant get anymore out of a fan cooling setup. That is all I was trying to say. How many pelts are you going to be using Colt? Your mod job has got me thinking about my case again.

I wil be using a total of 6 pelts, one 172 watt for processor. two 111 watters to cool the water, two 65 watters for the Voodoo card, and one 36 watter for the north bridge.
