Our cable services here (we have 2) aren't very good. No servers are allowed (ports are blocked) and no static ip addresses. They offer that capability only at business prices of $150/mo and up. At least I get 3 static ip and DNS support for my $90/mo. I have my own domain w/web, mail and ftp servers going. It's great for my far flung family.
