Not bad, nkeezer, I think you could do a better job of your current website with Flash... are you going to design your site entirely in Flash?

I was thinking about doing a Flash version of the site. Right now, though, it's kind of on the back burner for a couple of reasons:
1) I don't really like Flash sites as a rule, and
2) I simply don't have the time.
I might do a Flash version in the future, especially if I leave my current job (strongly considering it) and need something new to add to my portfolio that could attract clients.

I always tell guys new to web page making to NOT use a WYSIWYG editor. You don't learn HTML that way, you just learn how to use the wysiwyg editor itself and you'll really regret that when you get into dynamically generated web sites. I recommend getting Allaires Homesite (http://www.allaire.com), it's a free trial download, has awesome reference documentation, and really really helps you learn HTML the right way. You edit the code by hand, but it also has tons and tons of useful and time saving features.
I also advise against using Notepad as it doesn't save in UNIX text format, doesn't do syntax highlighting, and just plain doesn't have even the most basic text editing features needed. Wordpad would be a better choice if that's the way you want to go about it, but as I've hinted at, Homesite is the best. I still use it when I do webpages in Windows, and I've convinced the design company I work at of over 20 employees to switch to it from Frontpage 2000.

There are several HTML editors available as shareware or freeware that are WYSIWYG. A really good one is called FirstPage, I believe you can download it from ZDTV.com as freeware. I would suggest that you take the time to pickup a really basic book on HTML, such as one of the Dummies books and learn the basics first tho. I think the editors will make a lot more sence too you then.
