I have one question though, what flow rate to go for?
I have heard a lot of people at WC sites talk of using at least 300GHP - 400GPH for the ideal setup. But I do hear of people using about 200, though I hear that less than this can cause problems.
I was going to aim for about 300 with an Eheim pump or similar. Any opinions?
ynd69 do you find 180 enough, what is your setup (CPU)? and temps?
I would recommend a lower GPH like 150GPH. I just bought a 300GPH and it runs very hot, almost like the CPU itself. The noise isn't really a problem beause i think they're all pretty quite. MY 300GPH is a total failure, plus the water block is too expensive to get. They are like $38 for CPU and $27 for AGP card. I recommand staying with the air cool until something better come out. Well for the reservoir its totally up to you. Some people have used Tupperware boxes as reservoirs! (nods at White's direction) and they have worked perfectly.Quote:

Also, what do you think for waterblock, I've got it narrowed down to 2 of them
1) Dangerden MAZE1 for socket370
2) Overclock-watercool SILVERBASED Copper waterblock for socket 370
My friend used some sort of plexiglass as his reservoir and stuck it in his 5.25 bays so everyone could see the water https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/08/2.gif
About the blocks, I would go with Dangerden, most of the people here do.
Pailin, 200gph is more than enough IMHO, anything more has diminishing returns and I would only recommend higher gph if you were cooling the chipset/video card with one pump.
A month ago my temps were: 31c idle, 35c full load (room is very warm). Due to the increased heat, my temp are now 36c idle and 41-42c full load.
